SHELBYVILLE - Shelby Co. picked up a win in improbable fashion Friday, topping South Oldham 6-5 at the Athletic Complex on opening day.

Sophomore Dillon Boone delivered a two out, bases loaded, bottom of the seventh hit, to plate 3 for the win in an 8th Region tilt.

Tyler Eades pitched 4 innings of scoreless baseball, and Kody Noonan saved in the seventh, to collect the win.

Kevin Veeley and Dillon Boone both pounded out two hits in the winning effort.

The Rockets swing back into action Saturday, at home, with a 1:00 contest with Owen Co.

The JV game begins at 11:00.
