THUNDER BATS COME ALIVE IN VICTORY

In a battle of West Bend, the Thunder prevailed 14-7 over the West Bend Warriors. The Thunder got things going right away in the top of the first. Matt Geldnich led off with a solid single to center and stole 2^nd on the next pitch. Cooper Schlosser then doubled to left scoring Matt and advancing to 3^rd on the throw. Blake Hall followed with a sac fly to give the Thunder an early 2-0 lead. They would score another run in the 2^nd to take a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 2^nd. The Warriors would then plate 2 runs of their own to trim the lead to 3-2. In the top of the 3^rd the Thunder would plate 5 runs all after the first two batters made out. Juan Gurrola had the big hit, a two rbi single and Sam Geldnich followed that with a rbi single of his own and the 2^nd runner was thrown out at the plate to end the inning. They would score three more in the 4^th, two in the 6^th and one in the 7^th and scored in every inning except one for the game.

TJ Simpson started on the mound and went 4 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned while striking out 5. He was followed by Sam Geldnich who pitched the final 3 frames, allowing 3 runs, 0 earned and striking out 2. The Thunder were led at the plate by Cooper Schlooser, Sam Geldnich, Juan Gurrola and Mason Kirk with 2 hits apiece. Matt Geldnich, Nick Sterman, and Daniel Jones collected one hit apiece. Logan Chesak laid down a perfect suicide squeeze bunt to score Riley McClarran and every Thunder player reached base in the win.

With the win, the team improves to 3-1 in league play. They get right back at it Friday night with a league game vs. New Berlin Magic at West Bend. Game time is 5:30pm, hope to see you there and Go Thunder!
