THUNDER BOOMS in Roller Coaster Finish!!

OUR Thunder showed their metal in a battle with the New Berlin Magic tonight!! In one of the better little league baseball games I have seen, the Thunder came back from 2 down in the 7th and pulled out a thrilling 11-10 victory. The Thunder trailed 4-1 in the 3rd when they scored three times to tie the game. Nick Sterman had a rbi single and Sam Geldnich followed him with a 2 run single to pull the Thunder even. The Magic would then plate 2 runs in the 4th and led 6-5 heading into the bottom of the 6th. Nick Sterman led off the 6th and reached on an error by the catcher. After the next two batters made out, Mason Kirk got a huge rbi single to tie the score again 6-6. Logan Chesak then was hit by a pitch which brought Daniel Jones to the plate with 2 on and 2 out. Daniel crushed a ball over the head of the leftfielder for a double, giving the Thunder a 8-6 lead heading into the 7th. But the Magic weren't ready to throw in the towel. They would score 4 times in the top of the 7th off 2 walks, 2 hits and a couple of errors. So with the score 10-8 New Berlin, the Thunder had one last chance to come back. Cooper Schlosser would get things going in the bottom of the inning with a one out double. Blake Hall would follow with a walk and then Juan Gurrola crushed a ball to deep right scoring Cooper and getting Blake to 3rd. After an intentional walk to TJ Simpson to load the bases, Nick Sterman would get a game tying rbi single to left to tie the score 10-10. With the bases still loaded and one out, Sam Geldnich grounded into a FC with the runner out at home, setting the stage for Jordan Schommer with the the bases loaded and two outs in a tie game. Jordan would get the job done with a solid single to left to win the game for the Thunder and send the all the great fans home with a smile. What a game and what a finish! These boys never gave up and picked each other up off the ground all night long. It was a total team effort. With the win the Thunder improves to 4-1 in league play. They get back at it Tuesday night vs. Menomonee Falls Gray at 5:30 in West Bend. Hope to see you there and GO THUNDER!
