Thunder Rolls to Slinger Tournament Championship!!!

Our Thunder were crowned CHAMPIONS in the Slinger tournament this weekend with a convincing 11-2 victory over the Germantown Warhawks on Sunday afternoon. They fell behind 2-0 in the first but tied the score 2-2 in the 2nd and then rolled from there. They scored 4 runs in the 4th and 5 in the 5th to take a commanding 11-2 lead which turned out to be the final score. Cooper Schlosser started on the mound for the 2nd consecutive game and pitched 3 strong innings allowing 2 runs. Juan Gurrola pitched the next 3 innings allowing 0 runs and only 2 base hits. Daniel Jones pitched a perfect 7th to end the game.

The Thunder played a great weekend of baseball. It was a total team effort all weekend and the kids picked each other up all tournament long. Nick Sterman had a great tournament at the plate with big hit after big hit, Mason Kirk had a great weekend at the plate and on defense. Everyone played a part in the tournament championship. The defense was solid, pitching fantastic, and the offense was clutch all weekend long. Thanks to all the great fans who cheered us on in the scorching heat. It was great to see the sea of red in the bleachers and you fans were special all weekend. We always have the best following!! Way to go Thunder Nation!!

The Thunder will get back into action Tuesday night against the Germantown Warhawks Gold at West Bend. Game time is 5:30. See you then and enjoy this big tournament win!
