Thunder comes up short vs. Germantown

In a rematch of the Slinger Tournament Championship Game, Germantown got a little revenge with a 14-13 victory over the Thunder. Both teams had the bats working tonight but the Thunder just couldn't get over the hump. They fell behind 4-0 before tying the score at 4-4. They would continue to play from behind all night. Nick Sterman got the Thunder bats going with a booming 3 Run Homer over the fence in left, but Germantown had the answer for every Thunder rally. The Thunder came up to bat in the bottom of the 6th trailing 14-11 and due to time limit; this would be their final at bat. They would score two runs to pull within one and had runners on 2nd and 3rd but the Germantown shortstop made a nice play on Juan Gurrola's sharp grounder to end the game. All 3 outs in the 6th were hit hard but the Germantown defense made the plays. The boys battled hard all night and fought till the very end. With the loss, the Thunder falls to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in State League play. They now have eights days off before getting back on May 30 in Port Washington. Game time is 5:30.
