TigerTown outscored its opponents 60-17. The next best "Runs Allowed/Runs Scored" differential by a participating tournament team was 41-37, which indicates that the Tigers were generally clicking on all cylinders -- hitting, defense, pitching and baserunning. In five games, TigerTown committed no errors in the outfield, middle infield, first base, catcher and pitcher.
The championship game was played in the main stadium before nearly 200 spectators, scattered in the lower and upper deck. TigerTown played nearly flawless defense, with some highlight reel plays. The 3 runs allowed in the 11-3 triumph were unearned.
Numerous players truly merited being named MVP of the tournament, however, the big blast of the tournament was Bopper's long triple to left field that broke open a close game in the championship.
We're very happy that the boys had this special opportunity, as well as the great memories from a special weekend that they will never forget.
