Posted Jun 1/12 - Injury Bug Hits Outlaws as They Head Into Sunday Double Header

Clean up hitter Mike Roth is listed as day to day and ruled out for Sunday's twin bill.

The Outlaws are very excited to get back into action this weekend against the Braemar Bees and the St. Peter Saints.  Unfortunately they will have to do so without their starting third baseman and cleanup hitter.  Mike Roth has been ruled out for Sunday with a back injury.  I'm happy to report that Mike is making great progress towards recovery and getting back on the field.  Mike was reached for comment and stated, "With the right amount of rest and rehab, I hope to be back at full strength real soon!  I just want to thank everyone who has been supporting me and praying for me!"

Everyone is pulling for a speedy recovery and the quick return of Roth to the middle of the lineup.

Sunday will mark the first time the Outlaws have taken the field since May 11th.  With a feeling of starting all over, they are hoping this weekend will bring a notch in the left hand column of the win loss tally.  An early 11:00 start vs the Braemer Bees in St. Peter will be their first River Valley League action since May 5th.  Yikes!!  Braemar comes into Sunday sporting a 1-1 league record.  Since this is the Outlaw's first season there really is no scouting report available.  Braemar is coming off of a May 20th 4-1 loss to the River Valley powerhouse Searles Bullheads.

After the morning game the Outlaws will climb into the bleachers and watch the Bees square off against St. Peter.  Upon completion of that game St. Peter will host the Outlaws in an exhibition game.  There is only one report when it comes to the St. Peter Saints.  Everyone who describes them explains that they are one of the top teams in the State when it comes to over 35.  One interesting note for the Saints vs Outlaws game includes a brother vs brother match up.  The Outlaw's Jeff Drent will face off against his brother Greg, who is a member of the Saints squad.

Lets keep our fingers crossed the rain finally avoids Sunday.  We're due for a nice summer day of baseball.
