Thunder Bats Sink Sussex Hawks Red
The Thunder were looking to snap a two game losing streak and get back on the winning track Monday night and they did just that. They scored 5 times in the top of 1st to set the tone and went on to win 25-13 in 5 innings. They scored in every inning, including 9 in the 3rd and pounded out 19 hits as a team. The Thunder were lead at the plate by Jordan Schommer who was 3-3 with a triple and 3 RBI. Nick Sterman was 3-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s, and Cooper Schlosser was 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Daniel Jones was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s and all Thunder batters contributed in the win!
On the mound Blake Hall went 2 1/3 innings, followed by Sam Geldnich who pitched 1 inning. Daniel Jones went the next 1 1/3 and Matt Geldnich finished it off going the last 1/3. Once again walks hurt the Thunder pitchers but this time the bats were able to bail them out. With the win the team improves to 9-3 overall and 6-3 in State League play. They get right back it Wednesday night in Sussex vs. Sussex White. Game time is 6:00pm. Hope to see you there and Go Thunder! |
