Thunder Rolls In Tournament Opener

The Thunder opened up the West Bend Father's Day tournament Friday night vs. Whitefish Bay and rolled to 28-2 victory. Once again the bats were on fire as the Thunder pounded out 25 hits in the four inning win. Balls were being hit hard all over the field. Nick Sterman provided the highlight of the night with his second home run of the year. A booming shot over the left field fence. Every Thunder player hit the ball hard and reached base in the victory. Matt Geldnich was 4-5 with two doubles in the the leadoff spot. Cooper Schlosser was 3-4 with a triple, Blake Hall was 3-3, Mason Kirk and Riley McClarran each had 3 hits as well while Sam Geldnich and Logan Chesak had two hits apiece. Jordan Schommer,TJ Simpson and Daniel Jones each had 1 hit.

On the mound for the Thunder, Cooper Schlosser started and went a scoreless inning. Nick Sterman followed with a perfect 2nd inning. Riley McClarran pitched the 3rd inning and Mason Kirk finished things up in the 4th. On the night the Thunder pitchers only walked one batter and now for the season, every Thunder player has pitched.

The Thunder continue play today with a 12:30 contest vs. Mequon Heat Red. After that every team will be seeded for bracket play and the rest of the games will be TBD. Come on down and watch some baseball and Go Thunder!
