LAMBERTON —
Lamberton used a a three-run fourth inning to pull ahead of Heron Lake
in a nonleague amateur baseball contest Wednesday and the Long Sox never
looked back, winning 7-5.
With the loss, Heron Lake is still winless on the season, falling to 0-3.
Ben
Scheevel took the loss on the mound, giving up five earned runs on six
hits and a walk, while striking out three in five innings on the bump.
Tom Albrecht gave up one run on a walk and three hits in the remaining
three innings, while striking out four for the Lakers.
At the plate for Heron Lake, Lon Eichenberger was 3-for-5 with an RBI single and Scheevel was 2- for-3 with an RBI double and a triple to lead the Lakers.
Lamberton
pitcher Jacob Jenniges bent, but did not break, as he gave up three
earned runs on the mound on seven hits, while striking out eight in five
innings to pick up the victory. Derrick Jenniges picked up the save,
pitching a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning, striking out two in the
process.
Colby
Pack was 2-for-4 with an RBI single and Mike Wotschke was 3-for-4 with
three RBIs and a double to lead Lamberton at the plate.
Heron Lake will travel to Hadley for a game at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
