The following e-mail was sent to the team:

I played baseball for Coach Durr in the late 80s and early 90s, and I follow all of Senatobia's athletic teams closely to this day, particularly football and baseball.  The recent death of Coach White totally caught me off guard.  I did not know the young man, but from all accounts that I have received, he was a fine man and a true leader of the young men in his charge.  I currently live in the St. Louis area, and I coach high school football here.  Every day I tell our kids that we are ultimately judged as athletes by the pride we take in where we come from, and the honor we show those that have come before.  Coach White's mark on these young men won't be fully realized while they are still active in the season.  Now, they will play on guts and love of their coach, and for the game.  I simply ask that they be told that a lot of us Old Warriors are walking in spirit with them, that we love them, and that they are just a small, but infintely important, part of a line of Warriors that extends back far before most of their own Mamas and Daddies were born.  That said, we all pray that they will find the strength and courage to honor their coach, and the tradition he was just becoming a part of by playing the game the right way, the Warrior way, and never forgetting to remember that they are the ones with their destiny in their hands.  I am as Senatobia Blue as anybody, and OUR baseball team will be in my thoughts everyday until they are done.  Win or lose, just know that there are a lot of us out here that are watching this particular team with great sadness in our hearts, but abounding hope as well.
