It took a while for the bats to show up but when they did, it was all over for the Totems. Ryan Brett's solo homerun in the fourth inning was the first basehit for the Pirates but they still managed a 9-1 lead at that point. In the top of the fifth Highline erupted for 11 hits and 12 runs to end the contest via the 10 run mercy rule. Sixteen batters came to the plate in the inning producing 6 doubles and a Derick Lewis homerun. Junior, Nick Mead got the win hurling 3 innings with just two hits, no walks and 6 strikeouts. Brett, Locher, Lewis, Caleb Ramirez and Jacob Wydick had two hits each. The win improves Highline's record to 4-1 on the year with a big game Thursday night against Lindbergh at 7:00 pm on Moshier Field.
