Posted Apr 2/10 - HIGHLINE 15 LINDBERGH 1
It was too much Derick Lewis for Lindbergh to handle as the Pirates drubbed the Eagles 15-1 on Thursdsay night. The Senior pitcher staked himself to a 4-1 lead with a three run homer in the first inning and then held Lindbergh to just two basehits in Highline's fourth straight "Mercy Rule" victory. Derick added two more basehits and three more RBI's to lead the offense. Ryan Brett also had three basehits from his leadoff position.  Lindbergh threatened to get back in it in the third, loading the bases with nobody out.  But, a 6-4-3 doubleplay got the Pirates out of the inning with only one run having scored.  With a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, Highline came up with 11 runs on 10 hits which included 8 straight batters getting baseknocks.  Jacob Wydick, Ryan Lingle and Nick Mead were multi-hit players for the game.  With the win, Highline improves to 5-1 on the season.  Todays game at Lindbergh has been rained out and rescheduled for April 15th.  The doubleheader with Port Angeles has also been rained out and will not be made up.  Highine will take a few days off for Spring Break and get back to practice on Thursday, April 8th before Fridays 4:00 home game with Sequim.
