Posted Apr 13/10 - Cardinals pounce on Mets for 16-10 Victory

On a beautiful spring  night at Cloverdale BallPark, the Cardinals extended their winning streak to 4 games as they defeated the Mets 16-10.

While Don Vulcano was out of town, new Familia member "Dylano" showed that he was prepared to take care of the "family business" and mowed down the Mets batters for two solid innings as he held them to only 1 run.

Rookie Robichaud came in relief for her first appearance of the season and limited the Mets to two runs. Macmillan also took the mound for the first time after a Spring Training elbow injury, and showed he was ready for regular work as he allowed only 1 run in relief.  Carmont and Poole battle hard to keep the Mets at bay with some solid performances as the Cardinals were playing with a short bullpen.

Leadoff batter, McCreedy set off the tone offensively again with 3 hits and 3 runs scored while Carmont electrified the crowd with an inside the park home run. Sheardown continued his clutch hitting with 3 RBI's, while Chattaway and Vulcano supported the attack with two hits apiece. Poole produced a run the first, while Faul and Macmillan scored two runs each.

The Cards showed they also have some talent and toughness on the farm as minor league call up David Reston scored twice after being hit by the pitcher and showed some great defensive skills. A bright future awaits this great prospect!

The Cardinals look forward to battling the Giants on saturday as they put their winning streak on the line. In the mean time, Coach Robichaud will be preparing his report for Don Vulcano about his recommendation as to who should become a worthy addition tothe "Familia".  Stay tune...
