Posted Apr 15/10 - HIGHLINE 5 LINDBERGH 3

The Pirates win streak is alive following their eighth straight victory besting Lindbergh 5-3 on Thursday afternoon.  Sophomore, Jonny Locher cracked a two run homer in the first to get things started. Lindbergh tallied one run in the third to make it 2-1. The Pirates added on to their lead with single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.  The bottom of the seventh got a little dicey when, with two outs, the Eagles mounted a comeback.  A full count walk to their number nine hitter brought up the top of the order in Tommy Kawamura who doubled to left center chasing Pirate starter, Lee Carson.  With Ryan Brett entering to preserve the win, a questionable call produced a walk and a run to make it 5-3.  With the tieing run on second base, Brett buckled down and struck out the next Lindbergh batter to end the contest.  Jonny Locher led the offense with a 3-for-4 day. Derrick Lewis, Luke Werle and Ryan Brett had two hits each.  Lee got his second win on the hill and Brett got the "Save."  Highline remains alone in second place in the league standings with a doubleheader scheduled for 4:00 PM tomorrow at Moshier against Evergreen.
