Rangers Roughed Up

On Sunday the Senior A's roughed up the North Langley Rangers by a score of 9-1.  The A's played a complete game with solid pitching, good defense, and aggressive bats.  Mackenzie Li and Scott Amy split time on the hill holding the Rangers to 1 run on 6 hits.  The A's had a balanced attack with all 9 players reaching base.  The middle of the order continues to hit the ball hard, led by John Velten who was 3-4 ont he day with 3 RBI.

Great 8

The A's had their first road game of the season with a game against the Langley A's.  With a roster of only 8 they were able to knock off their Langley opponent by a score of 8-4.  All around the A's had a strong game scoring 8 runs on 14 hits.   Leading the way offensively was Kris Fibish, Mackenzie Li, and John Velten going a combined 8-15 with 7 RBIs.  Marlin Anderson and John Velten split the game on the hill scattering 6 hits over 7 innings.   The A's defense played extremely well ending the game with a spectacular 6-4-3 double play.

Opening Day DH

The Senior A's opened their season with a double header against Whalley.  Unfortunately they were on the wrong side of both games.  In the first game Whalley jumped out to a big lead that Coquitlam wasn't able to overcome.  The A's fought hard in the 6th and 7th but it was too little too late.  The A's pitching staff did a good job throwing strikes and getting the ball in play but the defense wasn't able to get the job done.  Offensively the bottom half of the A's order played well accounting for 6 of the 8 runs scored.

In the second game against the Whalley Warriors the A's were able to jump out to an early lead but were unable to hold off the Warriors.  Again the A's pitching staff pitched well but was let down by their defense.    Offensively the A's were not able to get much going after the 1st.
