The Lumberjacks exploded for 22 hits in sweeping a GSHL 2A doubleheader on Thursday at The Lumberyard. “They got four runs on us early so we had to scrap from behind in the first game,” RAL coach Mark Hulings said. “We settled down, got some good swings and were productive.” Jose Hinojosa had three hits, including a pair of doubles, as RAL collected 12 hits in the opener, with Spencer Thorsen, Steve Smith and Ryan Peerboom with two hits apiece. Thorsen pitched four innings with five strikeouts, and Brady Hulings tossed three relief innings for the victory.

Hinojosa tossed a complete-game victory in the nightcap with eight strikeouts. Austin Beavers had two hits and two RBIs, Hulings had two hits and drove in a run, and Thorsen and Tyler Messenger collected two hits apiece.

RAL (2-1 league, 6-3) hosts Ridgefield on Tuesday.
