Posted May 9/10 - WHITE RIVER 16 H IGHLINE 12

Highline managed to crank out 10 basehits and score 12 runs but it wasn't enough to overcome the offensive onslaught of the White River Hornets.  The sub-district seeding game saw the Pirates 6-4 lead go up in flames as the Hornets scored 11 runs in the fifth inning, eight of which came with two outs.  Highline wouldn't go quietly though scoring two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to make it exciting.  Those in attendance witnessed one of the most mammoth homeruns ever seen in a high school game from the bat of Ryan Brett.  The ball cleared the left field fence and also went over the left field fence of the adjacent softball field.  Ryan also clubbed a triple, stole four bases and scored three runs.  Derick Lewis also went "yard" for Highline and Lee Carson notched three basehits.  The loss means Highline travels to Vancouver, Washington on Tuesday for a 3:00 O'Clock game against Camas.  The game will be played at Propstra Field on the Hudson's Bay High School campus.  A map to the field is available from the following link. http://maps.yahoo.com/map?q1=1206%20East%20Reserve%20Street%2098661&mag=5&ard=1#mvt=m&lat=45.629789&lon=-122.651891&mag=5&zoom=14&q1=1206%20East%20Reserve%20Street%2098661
