As the Cardinals took the road to East Newton for their battle with the Giants at Chimney Heights Fields on a beautiful friday evening, the toll of a long school day off hit the team and they came up short in a close 11-10 defeat.
Taking advantage of the peculiarities of the field, the Giants pounded the Cardinals for 14 hits. Their aggresive baserunning combined with numerous errant throws by the visitor sealed the win for the Giants.
The Cardinals never gave up however and made it close.The attack was led by McCreeddy, Carmont, Chattaway, and MacMillan with two hits apiece. Carmont following up a solid performance against the Angel on thursday with another two triples. MacMillan hot bat burn the Giants with a monster triple to the left field wall.
