Fighting fatigue after a long road trip to East Newton the previous night, the Cardinals battled hard to earn a 9-7 victory over the RedSox in front of their adoring fans. They were not disappointed as they witnessed some stellar performance from their young players.

The Red Birds were led by a masterful pitching performance by their starter, Liam "The Lava Master" Vulcano whoheld the Sox to 1 run in 3 innings of work. He threw only 55 pitches and struck out 7 of the 12 batters he faced. "Mowe'm Down" Sheardown and Carmont allowed only 2 runs in relief to seal the victory.

The Cardinals defence was superb on the night as Kaiden "The Hammer" McCreedy stunned the Red Sox with 3 spectacular defensive plays. Not only did he received some thunderous cheers, but his performance earned him a birth in Don Vulcano's Familia...

Offensively the Cards were challenged by some eratic pitching and managed only 2 hits by Vulcano and McCreedy. They showed great discipline at the plate with 15 walks. Poole and Carmont drew 3 apiece as Poole turn his last free pass into an insurance run with some dynamic base running. Kyle Cork showed his toughness as he produced an RBI by being hit by a pitch.

The Cardinals look forward to a busy week as they gear for a major road trip to Richmond for the Richmond City tournament.
