With nothig on the line after securing the regular season crown on friday, the Cradinals approached their final game o the season as a tune up for the playoffs.  The Cards played well and manage to drop a close one 9-8 t the Rays.

The Cardinals deece was sharp as they pulled two double plays. Vulcano, McCreedy, and Chattaway pulling the first one with the bases loaded while Chattaway and Hampton combined to make short innng of the 4th and helped Kyle Cork pull a 9 pitch scoreless inning. Young call up Reston and Cork also came up with some solid defensive plays in the 3rd inning.

Offensively, the Cardinals were led by Hampton, Chattaway and Sheardown with two hits apiece while Vulcano, McCreedy, Reston, and Robichaud generated the other hits. Riley "Smiley" Faul assume the lead off role and drew 3 walks to spark the offence.

The Cardinal showed their pitching depth as Zack " Scoop" Poole took the mound and held the Rays Scoreless in the first. Kyle Cork and McCreedy also pitched scoreless innings while Robichaud pitch some beatiful strikes and allowed the Cardinals first home run of the season.

The coaches believe their team is now ready as they open their playoffs season against the Mighty Cloverdale Tigers on monday night.
