Posted Jun 6/10 - Cardinals Defang Diamondbacks with 11-2 Victory!

Playing their 3rd game of the week, the Cardinals showed their depth as they avenged their regular season lost to the D-Backs with an easy 11-2 win on a wet Sunday morning. The Cardinals faithfull feel blessed as their team jumped to a 3-0 playoffs record.

The Red Birds pitching staff was dominant on the day as they struck out 14 batters and used only 94 pitches to dispose of their opponent. "Tanneriffic" Carmont set the tone with two solid innings in his 3rd consecutive start, while Liam "Lava Master" Vulcano melted his opponents with 6 strike outs in 2 scoreless inning. His minor league roomate, Dylan "Mowem' Down" Sheardownc ontinued his brillant work as he held the D-Back scoreless with a 13 pitch inning. Meanwhile, Thomas "The Closer" Chattaway shut the door to seal the win with 3 strike outs to end the game.

Offensively, the Cards were led by Carmont who belted two monster doubles to the fence as he recorded 3 hits. ZacK "The Scoop" Poole join the attack with 3 hits, while Vulcano and Chattaway contributed two hits apiece. Vulcano's minor league brother, J-J, who recently joined the big club as an emergency call up, rounded the attack with a solid hit to produce two RBI's.

The Cardinals' defence was barely tested on the day as the birds' pitching staff simply dominated the game. After the game, the team learned that they had lost their powerful lead off hitter "Kaiden "The Hammer" McCreedy to a playground  accident and that he would miss the rest of the season. The Cardinals decided to dedicate the rest of the season to their teamate and look forward to having him cheer them on as they go for the championship.
