Posted Jun 13/15 - Offense Erupts in Back Half of Double Header to Secure Split
Outlaws fall to Prior Lake and rebound with a victory over St. Peter...

Prior Lake-8 / Outlaws-1

I wasn't at these ball games so the game wraps could be a bit condensed.

It was yet another double header weekend for the Outlaws as they traveled to St. Peter to take on the Prior Lake Mariners and the home team Saints.  It promised to be a brutally tiring day for the Outlaws as only 9 good guys were able to make the trip.

Prior Lake was first on on the docket and Tom Hady was the pitcher of choice for the home team Outlaws.  Prior Lake struck first by plating 3 runs in the opening frame.  Three singles in a row from Turnland, Urbain and Monarch helped the Mariners open the early lead.  The Outlaws did answer with one unearned run of their own using a Prior Lake error to put the score at 3-1 after one inning.

Hady would go the distance for the Outlaws striking out two Mariner hitters.  Prior Lake would tally 8 runs over the 7 innings with 5 of them being earned.  The Outlaws had base runners on in 4 of the remaining six innings but wouldn't plate another run.  Mike Roth and Tom Hady would finish 1 for 3 in game 1.  Jason Beckett was 1 for 4 and scored the Outlaws only run in the 1st inning.  Jesse Teerink and Justin Williamson both reached in two of their three plate appearances with two walks.

Outlaws-18 / St. Peter-5

A lot of black dots on the Outlaws side of the book in this game.  It's hard to know where to start, so I will just summarize things as well as I can.  The Outlaws jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.  The bats came to life and the Outlaws improved to 2-3 in league play with an 18-5 win.

Ryan Carlson took the hill for the Outlaws and went 4 innings giving up 5 runs and striking out 1.  Sam Baumgartner finished things up tossing two scoreless innings of hit free baseball and striking out 3.

Sam Baumgartner was 4 for 5 with 3 RBI, 3 runs scored and a base on balls.  Ryan Meyer also was on fire with a 4 for 5 day including 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Mike Roth was a big bopper going 3 for 4 with a double, 4 RBI's, 2 runs scored and a base on balls.  Ryan Carlson helped his cause going 2 for 3 with a double, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored and 3 base on balls.  Jesse "Muff" Teerink had a nice day also going 2 for 3 with a double, 3 RBI's, 2 runs scored and 2 base on balls.  Tom Hady finished 1 for 3 with a run scored, 2 RBI and a base on balls.  Jason Beckett had a busy game going 1 for 5 with three runs scored, an RBI and a base on balls.  Justin Williamson rounded out the offensive explosion going 1 for 5 with a run scored.
