Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  The Portland rocket

Return to their winning ways knocking off van wert tues nite 12-1 at runkle-miller field.

4 runs in the 1^st, 6 in the 3^rd and the offense clicked.  a lead off triple by Dalton tinsely, and a 2 run double by mitch waters key blows in the 1^st inning.  Tinsely had 3 hits showing his prowess before parkland college of Chicago coach matt kennedy.  Coach kennedy  played vs. the rockets in 2004 with the Crawfordsville eagles.  Remember the tommy pearce home run for the state championship---glory days/

more rocket fireworks in the 3^rd, key blow a 3 run home run to the woods in left by brice davis. Brice had 3 hits in his last game, 2 in this game. Also with 2 hits newcomer Kirby Campbell from cowan and ball state, Kirby with  a double and a triple and 2 rbi. Kirby is cody campbell’s brother, both bsu cards and he is an athlete.

Rocket pitcher Michael caley from markle, effectively hurled 61 pitches, allowing but 1 unearned run to the twisters thru 5 inn.  Billy geeslin and travis gray each threw an inn.

Van wert defeated mich. City 8-7 sun,  a surprise after mich city beat Portland twice sat.

Van wert loses to Portland 12-1.  van wert twisters have never defeated the rockets.

19 players played for the rockets in the 7 inning game. 1 hr 50 min for this titanic struggle.  Good crowd on hand, of course the maloys were there, thanks david lyons for your generous donation===that guy just makes you feel good to be around

Team mvp, asst coach and batman, seth rupe---when seth is there we win.  Do it again sat seth.

Rocket notes:  congrats to elijahjones of Winchester, he competed as a class 2A all-star sat at Decatur central.  Congrats to Thomas mccowan 23 yrs old today.  We are still awaiting word if rocket ss zach tanner will be signed by the gary railcats. Steve garbacz shared he has seen many a railcat game---what is a railcat???? Tanner will be at our game sat unless signed professionally.  And congrats to josh ludy----1^st team all-american  a dream come true/

June 27 2009, josh ludy came home from Wisconsin woodchucks and along with current rockets, bryan brudi, Jensen painter, dan bollenbacher were nabf regional runnerups- going 35-13 that summer.

I can remember asking ludy, how much wood can a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
