Taylor Grider's effort not enough as Russell County Lakers Varsity falls to Bowling Green 2-1

Russell County Lakers Varsity's Taylor Grider struck out seven batters, but providing enough offense to notch a victory proved difficult Saturday, as Russell County Lakers Varsity fell to Bowling Green 2-1.

Grant Best was charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

Bowling Green pushed one run across in the fifth inning to start the scoring. Bowling Green got on the board thanks to a fielder's choice.

Russell County Lakers  managed to score one run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Brennan Coffey.

Bowling Green never surrendered the lead after the eighth inning, scoring one run on an RBI double by Devin Hayes.
