Nelson Goes CG Shutout, Cobras Head To State!

The Cobras won their best 2 out of 3 series with the Minneapolis Angels on Saturday night with a 3-0 shutout thrown by starter Ryan Nelson.  The weather was highly suspect but never enough to call the game.  Kevin Truax drove in the games first run with a RBI groundout.  Matt Youngquist then reached on an error scoring the 2nd Cobras run.  Nelson was dominant the entire game with really only one big threat.  The Angels loaded the bases in the 5th with two out and veteran Mike Carrell up...Nelson would strike out Carrell on 3 pitches and that would spark him to improve as the rest of the game went on.  Mason Reinhart hit a sacrifice fly to score the 3rd run of the game.  Nelson would shut the door and send the Cobras to state with a complete game shutout.

The Cobras advance to their second consecutive state tournament and hope to improve on last years runner-up finish.  The Cobras will face North St.Paul Red Roosters on Friday at 8:30pm.  All games are at Red Haddox field in Bloomington.

Urseth Goes CG, Cobras Win 4-3.  Lead Playoff Series 1-0

The Cobras started their playoff series off on the right foot with a hard fought 4-3 victory over the Minneapolis Angels on Friday night.  Both teams were certainly at playoff intensity, knowing wins will not come easy between this pair.  The Cobras got off to a hot start, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Kevin Truax scored the first run on a gimpy ankle and battling either ebola or swine flu.  Starter J.E. Urseth was his usual dominant / non dominant self...hitting Angels bats with regularity but not regularly in the sweet spot.  The Angels would turn double plays on the Snakes offense in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings to snuff out rallys.

The Angels would claw back using a couple of clutch hits and a fluke double error inside the parker to tie the game up at 2-2.  Mason Reinhart made a huge diving catch in RF and concussed himself along the way.  He was heard yelling "See What Had Happened Was!!!" at the top of his lungs.  Momentum changed hands multiple times in the game and the Cobras were able to plate two more runs in the 7th and 8th inning.  The first run was scored on a Ryan Sele patented high chopper in which he beat out the potential inning ending double play with his blazing speed.  Sean Borman would single in his brother Matt for the final Cobras run of the game.  Urseth would go out for the 9th and finish the complete game while making it somewhat interesting along the way.  Big win for the Snakes.

The next game of the series will be played Saturday at 6pm.  Cobras are the visting team...win and go to state!

Cobras Fall 2-1 to Coon Rapids

The Cobras travelled back to Coon Rapids for their final tune up game before the Park National League playoffs begin on Friday.  Unfortunately for the Snakes they would lose a close game 2-1 to the home team Redbirds.  Alex Gustafson would make his first start in recent memory for the Cobras and throw 7 solid innings.  The umpire would not have a solid 9 innings...booting a handful of calls with most of them going against the Snakes.  Ryan Sele would be a sparkplug for the Cobras...coming into the game in the 5th and hitting an immediate double down the line and then getting an RBI in his next at bat.  Matt Youngquist, Matt Rink and Erik Quarberg also had doubles for the Cobras.  Leadoff doubles in the 7th and 9th would go by the wayside as the Coon Rapids pitcher kept the bats of balance.  The largest gaff by the umpire came in the 9th inning...following a leadoff double by Quarberg, Matt Rink would smash a ball down the right field line hitting the foul line.  The umpire called it foul...even though the Cobras saw dust!  That was a gamechanger.

The Cobras begin their playoffs on Friday with a 2 of 3 series with the Minneapolis Angels.  Game time for game 1 is 7:00pm at Parade Stadium.  Come out and support the Snakes!

Wengenroth Deals, Krause Comes Up Clutch - Cobras Beat Elko 3-2 in 10 Innings

The Cobras travelled to Elko for a tune up game before playoffs on Friday.  John Wengenroth started on the hill for the Snakes and was dominant.  The game started off slowly for the Cobras and Elko got out to a 2-0 lead on an error and a balk with a man on third.  Despite those hiccups, Wengenroth would get better as the game went on.  The Cobras would tie the game in the 7th on an error and a bases loaded walk of J.E. Urseth.  The game would head to extras and in the top of the 10th the Cobras would get Bormans on 1st and 3rd with no outs before back to back strikeouts brought Jake Krause to the plate.  Krause would "smash" a single to right scoring Matt Borman for the game winning run.  Matt Germar would come in for the save in the bottom of the 10th.  He would channel the late 90's glory days in Elko and record a 1-2-3 inning.

The Cobras drank platters full of beer postgame courtesy of the Elko concession stand.  May we recommend the 8 for 12 deal...but make sure to ask for the 10 for 10.  Matt Germar showed off his picture on the wall on the 1997 Elko State Tournament team.  Matt RInk, Erik Quarberg and Krause would all be fined for talking about "The Bachelorette".  Gabe MacDonald was reunited with his lost glove and was fined accordingly.

The Cobras final regular season game is Wednesday against the Coon Rapids Redbirds.  Game time 7:30pm at Wintercrest Park.

Cobras Beat Baseball 365 2-1, Capture 3 Seed in Park National League

The Cobras picked up a victory in the last Park National League game of the season with a 2-1 score over the expansion Baseball 365 team on Wednesday.  This victory secures the 3 seed in the Park National League playoffs and a first round bye along with home field advantage for the second round of playoffs.

Cobras starter J.E. Urseth had another quality start, throwing 6 innings and allowing only 1 run.  The Cobras would get on the board in the 4th inning with Gabe MacDonald scoring on a wild pitch.  The 365 squad would battle back with a RBI double in the 5th with two outs.  The top of the 6th inning would see Sean Borman hit an opposite field home run to make it 2-1 Cobras.  Urseth would finish the 6th and give way to closer Alex Gustafson who would slam the door.  Big league victory for the snakes brining their final PNash league record to 11-5.  The Cobras would end up tied with the Minneapolis Angels in the standings but courtesy of a tiebreaker would capture the 3rd seed.

In the parking lot the Cobra Kai celebrated their victory with beers, fines and hot dogs cooked up by Mason Reinhart.  The Cobras golf tournament championship trophies were discussed and will be a big hit on September 20th.  If you are interested in golfing or sponsoring a hole please contact Mike Lenertz at mike.lenertz@gmail.com.

The Cobras have picked up a game with Elko on Tuesday night and hope to add one more next week before playing in the 2nd round of playoffs starting next Friday at 7pm.

Cobras Go 3-0 in Cold Spring, "Win" Nick Bell Classic

The Cobras won 3 games in Cold Spring for the first time in recent memory.  Offense and pitching were on display (not always simultaneously) all weekend.  Although the temperature was high on Sunday, it was nothing like in years past and there were no monsoons or tornados.  As the only 3-0 team on the weekend, The Cobras "won" the Nick Bell Classic.  Thank you to Cold Spring for hosting us and we hope they will have us back next year.  Here are the game recaps...

Cobras Smash Sauk Rapids 16-6

The Cobras brought their bats on Friday night and mashed the Sauk Rapids Cyclones by a score of 16-6 in 6 innings.  Marcus Barone started on the hill for the snakes and threw a complete game.  One rough inning plated 6 runs for the Cyclones but other than that it was all Cobras.  The Cobras would register 16 hits on the night.  Mason Reinhart, Matt Rink and Gabe MacDonald had multi hit games along with Sean Borman who sent a ball an estimated 400 feet over the right field wall.  The Cobras drank beers in the parking lot until 1AM before returning to the Super 8 in St. Cloud.

Urseth Goes CG Shutout Saturday vs Brainerd

The Cobras picked up their first shutout of the year with a 5-0 win over the Brainerd Bees.  The Cobras went up 5-0 early and starter J.E. Urseth was on point.  Marcus Barone took two shots to the man zone behind the dish only hours after throwing a complete game Friday night.  The Bees only real threat of the night was snuffed out by a pickoff and a strikeout by Urseth.  Gabe MacDonald coached 3rd base while doing the book and not only hung David Reyes out to dry on a play but missed a run being scored in the book.

Offense Scores 10 in 2 innings, Cobras Defeat 2013 Class B Champion Cold Spring 10-5

The Cobras wrapped up the weekend with a 10-5 victory over the defending Class B State Champion Cold Spring Springers.  It was hot and humid just like most Cold Spring Classic weekends.  The Cobras were down 1-0 in the 2nd when John Wengenroth would start a 6 run two out rally.  Wengenroths multi-foul at bat leading to a single was the spark the Cobras needed.  Walks, hit by pitches and a handful of hits later and it was 6-1 Snakes.  The Cobras would score another 4 in the 3rd inning and would not look back.

Starter Matt Germar would battle through some location issues through 4 innings and reliever John Wengenroth would shut down the Springers.  Mike Lenertz would register a crazy webgem in the 5th inning on a diving stop on the 3rd base line.  The Cobras would pick up the victory over the host Springers on a line out double play in the 7th.  It was a great weekend of baseball.

The Cobras have one final Park National League game remaining against Baseball 365 on Wednesday.  If the Cobras win they secure a first round bye for playoffs.  First pitch is 6:15pm at Dick Cassidy Field.

Sad Day For Cobra Nation

The Cobras hearts are saddened to learn of the passing of superfan Gaye Jensen, mother of longtime Cobras slugger Brian Jensen.  Our thoughts are with the Jensen family.

Cobras Sneak Past Blue Sox 5-4

The Cobras picked up their 20th win of the season with a 5-4 victory over the Minneapolis Blue Sox on Thursday night.  The Cobras got off to a hot start loading the bases with no one out in the bottom of the first but were only able to plate one run.  Mason Reinhart hit a big double in the 3rd inning plating Kevin Truax.  The Cobras would lead 3-0 into the 4th when the Blue Sox would score 3 times on a variety of weird hops and a couple of well hit singles.  The Cobras would then answer with a run in the bottom of the 4th and never lose the lead again.  Matt Youngquist would score the eventual game winning on a Kevin Truax 2 out single after a bunt put him in scoring position by Mike Lenertz.  Matt Germar and Alex Gustafson would pitch in relief of starter John Wengenroth.

The Cobras now travel to Cold Spring, MN for the annual Nick Bell Classic.  The Snakes first game is Friday at 8:30pm vs Sauk Rapids.

Cobras Flat Against Lakers 8-2

Lakers play well, Cobras don't.  Thats all.

Cobras Edge Patriots 7-6, Drink A Lot of 40s Afterwards

The Cobras celebrated Matt Youngquists wedding on Saturday with some drinks, dancing and wonderful food provided by KFC.  Jake Krause ate nearly 15 cupcakes, including one off the floor.  Matt Rink ate a lot of Sour Patch Kids...SPK Nation!  Cobras Nation would like to extend their congratulations to Matt and Laura Youngquist!

The next morning the Cobras continued the celebration with a hard fought and hungover victory over the Minneapolis Patriots.  The weather was near perfect...and the early 10am BP allowed the Cobras to sweat the booze out a bit.  Cobras starter Ryan Nelson was sharp early before a troublesome 4th inning.  The bullpen (Munsterman, Barone, Gustafson) did a fantastic job of slowing down the Patriots attack and securing the victory.  Offensively, Kevin Truax and Erik Quarberg had 2RBI singles and Sean Borman hit a bomb into the sculpture garden.  The Cobras held on for a big league victory.

In the parking lot the Cobras celebrated their annual "40 Day".  Mason Reinhart grilled out on not one but two grills.  The Cobras Dog Park was in full effect.  Some highly contested games of bags were played as well.  Rob Gossard made an appearance and talked about throwing softball BP to celebrities.  A dog peed on one of Jake Krause's Cintas Rugs...good thing they have products to capture and service to remove.

The Cobras next game is Tuesday vs the Lakers.  8:30pm at Parade.

Cobras Sloppy In 7-1 Loss To Pub

The Cobras lost a big league game to Lyon's Pub 7-1 on Wednesday.  Defense was rough, hitting was minimal...the Pub came up with a couple clutch hits.  The only highlights for the snakes were Mason Reinharts big RBI single scoring Kevin Truax from 1st and Sean Bormans near scoreboard shot to RF resulting in a double.  Overall the game was handed to the Pub on at least 5 snakes errors.

The parking lot was full of horse poop and glitter from the parade the day before.  The Cobras cut the ribbon on "The Cobras Dog Park"...with more than 12 dogs in attendance, critics say it was a smashing success.  Mason grilled again and did a shake weight with the coals.  A nickle plated Cobras engraved ashtray was introduced, but Ryan Sele has quit smoking.

The Cobras next game is Sunday at Noon against the Patriots.  We will be celebrating Matt Youngquists wedding on Saturday Night and 40 Day after the game Sunday.  Be prepared for some Bro Hacks and Hangovers!

Cobras Bats Come Alive, Cobras Trounce Angels 17-6 in 6 Innings

The Cobras avenged a 1-0 loss earlier in the year to the Minneapolis Angels with a 17 run offensive display on Tuesday night.  What a difference a game makes...the Cobras had 1 hit and a combined 15 strikeouts in the previous matchup...on Tuesday the Cobras matched that hit total in the first at bat of the game and plated 5 runs in the first inning alone.

The Cobras would open up the first inning with hits, walks, and some timely errors by the Angels 9.  Veteran Kirby Morsching took the hill again against the snakes, but the Cobras offense would be ready.  The Cobras would add on 4 more runs to bring their total to 9 off the Angels ace.  Starter Ryan Nelson was strong allowing 2 runs into the 5th inning...thats where it got interesting fast.  Nelson allowed a leadoff homerun and a few hits later it was suddenly 9-6.  Alex Gustafson was summoned out of the pen to stop the bleeding.  The Cobras offense would respond in the top of the 6th and put the game away with 8 runs bringing the score to 17-6 and a mercy rule finish in 6 innings.  Every Cobra hit well...Sean Borman, Matt Borman, Kevin Truax, Matt Youngquist, John Wengenroth and Gabe MacDonald all had multiple hits.  Erik Quarberg was 4-4 on the day and let everyone know that he was in fact stat mongering.

In the parking lot the beer was cold and some special parking lot snacks were provided courtesy of J.E. Urseth's parents.  The pickle roll ups were gone almost immediately.  The Cobras enjoyed a big league victory which secures them a tiebreaker over the tough Angels squad.  5 league games left...the next game is one week from today against Lyon's Pub.  Enjoy the 4th of July!

Cobras Win Stockmens Irish Invitational Tournament

The Cobras played a doubleheader on Sunday in South St.Paul and came away with their first Stockmen's Tourney title in recent memory.  It was a beautiful day for a double header made possible by the Stockmens grounds crew...what was a lake 12 hours earlier was now a playable surface.  We appreciate the hospitality of the Stockmens team and support staff...we are already looking forward to coming back next year.  On to the game recaps...

Game 1 vs Rosetown

J.E. Urseth dealt 6 strong innings, Kevin Carlson went yard.  The Cobras ate the famous ballpark brats in large quantities.  See more info below.

Game 2 vs Lyons Pub

In a rare Night / Day single header, (thanks mother nature) the Cobras topped Lyons Pub in a close game 4-3.  The Cobras got the early advantage by a score of 2-1 before the rain came in bunches on Saturday night.  On Sunday AM the game was resumed.  The Cobras would score a couple of runs in the 3rd before Tony Knault of the Pub would bring the Pub withing a run with a homer to left.  John Wengenroth would keep the Pub off balance for the first 5 innings.

A major turning point in the game would come with the bases loaded and 1 out...a fly ball to right field would be caught then fired to home by Mason Reinhart to cut the runner down trying to tag.  Matt Germar would attempt a sliding catch at one point...only to attempt to catch the ball with his bare hand.  A supply of ice was rushed to Germar after the game.  Alex Gustafson would earn his first save of the season with 2 scoreless innings in relief.

Championship Game vs. Stockmen's Irish

The Cobras advanced to the title game against the hosting Stockmen's Irish team.  The Cobras would be lead by Marcus Barone on the hill who provided the snakes with a solid 6 innings.  Kevin Truax would close the door in his first pitching performance of the year.

Offensively the Cobras were lead by Sean Borman who had 3 hits, including a huge 2 run homer in the 5th.  Matt Borman took off his coaching hat and chipped in with a couple hits as well.  Gabe MacDonald wore his shin guards to the plate before an at bat and was fined accordingly.  J.E. Urseth was randomly thrown at but then had a 2 RBI single in his next at bat.

In the park (not parking lot!) the Cobras celebrated the tournament championship.  Gunz was fined for complaining to an ump that he saw dust fly on a foul ball down the line (dust not chalk).  Mason Reinhart was fined for a poor security check performance at the Twins game (racial profiling).  J.E. Urseth was fined for liking professional wrestling and leaving the lot early to watch the Pay Per View.

It is to be noted that a nearly perfect baseball / perfect hair weekend was performed by Marcus Barone.  Catching 6 innings on Sunday then pitching 6 in the championship game.  He almost did not wear a baseball cap or catchers skull cap due to his nearly flawless hair.  We would like to dub him the Cobras tournament MVP.

The Cobras next game is Tuesday at 6:15pm against the Minneapolis Angels.  Come out to Parade Stadium and support the snakes.

Cobras Top Rosetown 5-2, Pub Game Gets Washed Out - Stockmens Tourney

The Cobras played a solid game against the Rosetown A's on Saturday in the Stockmens Irish Invitational.  The second game against PNash rival Lyon's Pub was rained out with the Cobras leading 2-1 entering the bottom of the 2nd.  The Cobras are scheduled to resume their game with the Pub at 11am on Sunday.  Rain will probably not allow that...but who knows.

Highlights...

  • J.E. Urseth went 6 scoreless innings on the hill in game 1.
  • Kevin Carlson hit a 2 run homer.
  • David Reyes smiled one time.
  • Marcus Barone's hair was near perfect.
  • Lyons Pub nearly died as the shelter they were under was struck by lightning.  A garbage can touching the building went 10 ft into the air.
  • Matt Borman made his managerial debut in game one.

Cobras Rally From 5 Down, Top Merchants 13-9

The Cobras battled back from an early defecit to beat the Metro Merchants on Wednesday evening 13-9.  The beginning of the game can only be described as fugly.  Yes, fugly.  The first two innings of the game took an hour alone.  Mike Castle left the booth for a period of time to watch grass grow as it was more exciting.  The Cobras found themselves down 8-3 after the Merchants had been to bat twice.  The Kai offense would not let that hold up...scoring early and often to bring the game back to even.  Marcus Barone threw 3 scoreless innings of relief.  Zach Munsterman and Alex Gustafson pitched in to hold off the Merch late rally attempts.

Highlights are as follows...

  • Kevin Truax hit a "Stockmens Irish Pool Shot" to lead off the game.  Maxed out at 310...stand up double.
  • Matt Borman was hit twice and fouled a ball off his foot.  The Cobras athletic trainer Ryan Nelson was not in attendance.
  • Rob Gossard made an appearance in the dugout wearing his customary sweatshirt in hot weather.
  • Matt Rink attempted a bunt, then apologized for the poor execution.
  • Gabe MacDonald was fined twice while not playing in the game.
  • Mason Reinhart grilled out, fed a lot of Cobras, and had a big Kirby Puckett take in his 2nd at bat.
  • JE learned how to ride motorcycle courtesy of Gus.  He did not tip it.

The Cobras next games are in the Stockmen's Irish Tournament this weekend.  The Cobras face Rosetown and Lyons Pub in pool play before Sunday's TBD game.  Come out and support the snakes.

Nelson Deals, Rink And Reinhart Go Yard.  Cobras Beat Chaska 11-6

The Cobras topped a very good Chaska Cubs team on Tuesday evening with a 11-6 final score.  The game would be played at Veterans Park in Chaska instead of historic Athletic Park due to 10 feet of water covering the field.  Kudos to the Chaska team and support staff to keep the game on the calendar.

The game started off with the Cobras taking an early 4-0 lead.  Matt Borman doubled in Matt Youngquist on a first inning hit and run of sheer beauty.  Starter Ryan Nelson, fresh off the latest Cobras wedding proposal got down on one knee and pledged his undying love for blowing doors off of hitters (especially in the 6th inning).  The Cubs battled back to make the game 4-3 while the Cobras limited the scoring.  A 8-6-2-BYAH putout got the momentum back for the Kai.  Matt Rink then man-mountained a ball over the left field fence to put the Cobras up 5-3.  The Cobras would never look back.  Mason Reinhart hit a changeup into orbit in the 8th and was given the silent treatment by his own team.  John Wengenroth would throw the last two innings in relief of Nelson who threw one hell of a game.

The Cobras next game is tomorrow vs the Metro Merchants at 6:15pm.  Parade Stadium is the venue.

Cobras Awake In 5th, Beat Baseball 365 10-3

The Cobras rallied to pick up a big Park National League victory on Monday against the expansion franchise Baseball 365.  The game would start off slowly for the Cobras who would battle the long grass of the Dick Cassidy infield and the humid air.  Cobras starter J.E. Urseth kept the mascot-less 365 squad off balance through 5 innings...allowing 3 runs.  Mason Reinhart would Cespedes a guy at home plate.  The Kai were down 3-0 entering the 5th when the game went pear-shaped for 365.  The Cobras took advantage of a handful of walks and pitching changes during the inning to plate 7 runs.  The "Cobber Connection" of Jake Krause and Matt "Gunz" Youngquist helped to spark the rally.  Marcus Barone and Alex Gustafson (who entered the game on his chopper, Ricky Vaughn style) shut 365 down for the last two innings.

The Cobras next game is Tuesday against Chaska at Veterans Field.  7:15 game time.

Cobras Fall Flat Vs Lakers, Lose 6-0

The Cobras winning streak came to an end with a 6-0 flop against the Minneapolis Lakers on Wednesday night.  The snakes could not get any offense mustered against the Lakers pitcher.  J.E. Urseth started on the hill and kept the Lakers off balance for the first 4 innings...the 5th inning would go pear shaped.  The Lakers would tally 6 in the 5th and never look back.  The Cobras only offensive threat of the game would come in the first when they would load the bases with 1 out.  Matt Rink would drive a ball to center field but Matt Borman would be tagged out attempting to advance to 3rd before the run scored at home plate.  It is to be noted that the umpire was not watching home plate and was convinced into the call by the Lakers bench, but either way making the 3rd out at 3rd cost us the Kai an early lead.

The Cobras next game is Monday vs Baseball 365 at Dick Cassidy Field.  6:15 start.

Cannon Falls Tournament: Cobras Top Savage 5-1, Rest Of Tourney Rained Out

The Cobras traveled down to Cannon Falls for the Josh Harrison Memorial Tournament last weekend.  Unfortunately, and for the second year in a row, mother nature decided to intervene.  After a decisive first round victory over the Savage Outlaws on Friday, both Saturday and Sundays games were rained out.  The Cobras are undefeated in Cannon Falls over the past 2 seasons and have yet to hoist a trophy.  Rain sucks...

Cobras Top Savage 5-1

The Cobras faced the Savage Outlaws in the first round of the Josh Harrison Memorial Tournament in Cannon Falls on Friday night.  The crafty lefty Matt Germar started on the hill for the snakes.  Germars ephus pitch along with the expansive zone provided by the umpire gave the Savage hitters headaches all night.  Kevin Truax made an unconventional bare hand tag at second...which utterly confused everyone including the ump.  Every Cobra over 38 years old (KT and Germar) took turns chirping at the umpire for one reason or another.  Offensively, Mason Reinhart, Matt Borman and Erik Quarberg all had doubles in the game.  Matt "Cespedes" Rink gunned a guy out from the wall trying to leg out a double.  Marcus Barone and Alex Gustafson clamped down the victory in relief of Germar.  "We almost played another good game" said Germar.

The Cobras will return to Park National League play on Monday with a 8:30 tilt with Baseball 365.

Cobras Bats Stay Hot, Crush Patriots 11-2

The Cobras stayed hot, picking up their 5th consecutive league victory on Wednesday night with a 11-2 victory over the Minneapolis Patriots.  Starter Ryan Nelson teamed up with Marcus Barone and Alex Gustafson to hold the Pats to only 2 runs.  The offense for the Kai was the star of the show.  The Cobras scored 4 runs in the first inning and would never look back.  Kevin Truax would place a beautiful drag bunt in no mans land to lead off the game.  Mason Reinhart would double to right center scoring Truax on a "no slide close play" at home.  Matt Germars head almost exploded.  Matt Borman would single and drive in Reinhart, advancing to 2nd on the throw home.  Two batters later Erik Quarberg would drive in Borman and Matt Rink on a double into right center.  It was a good start that the Cobras would only add to in the later innings.

Matt Rink got the beer frame but had recently (and successfuly) proposed to his girlfriend, so he was in good spirits about it.  Matt Germar was quoted to say that the team almost played a good game today.  That's the most praise we have heard this year.  Rain cut short the Cobras parking lot party...but the rugs remained dry.  Products to Capture, Service to Remove.

The Cobras travel down to Cannon Falls for the Josh Harrison Memorial Baseball Tournament this weekend.  Let us hope that weather complies this year.  First game is 8:15pm on Friday vs Savage.

Cobras Blast Rats 10-1

The Cobras picked up their 4th consecutive league victory with a 10-1 drubbing of the River Rats on Monday.  Starter J.E. Urseth, fresh off his own bachelor party weekend, threw 6 innings allowing 0 earned runs.  The Cobras offense provided plenty of support as the game went on.  Matt Borman almost went yard to RF and walked nearly the entire way to first before sprinting into second for a double.  Erik Quarberg, fresh off an epidural in his last game, emphatically walked twice (Big Tyne!) and flipped his bat on a foul that landed 20 feet short of the wall becuase he "thought he got it."  David "Dan" Reyes would make the 1st and 3rd outs in the 7th inning on hard hit balls to first base.  Alex Gustafson would come in and shut down the Rats in the 7th.

In the parking lot Mason Reinhart brought the grill.  A bent piece of metal from Jake Krause's truck were used as tongs.  Quarberg was fined for talking in the 3rd person.  Rug coverage finally returned.  The Rats were strong in the lot...tip of the cap.

The Cobras face the Patriots Wednesday at 8:30 at Parade.

Cobras "Iron 11" travel to Hampton, hold on to win 8-6.

The Snakes rolled down to soggy Hampton for a 9 inning affair with the host Cardinals sunday with a thin 11 man crew, and came away with a hard fought 8-6 victory.  Crafty veteran right-hander John Wengenroth went a strong 7 innings to get the W, with Cobras newcomer Marcus Barone finishing off the 8th & 9th.  Sean Borman continued to lead the Cobras bats, crushing multiple balls again while staying on his feet getting down the quicksand like first base line.  Matt Borman was almost thrown out at 1st base on a laser single to right.  Ryan Nelson was nearly flawless in his debut at 2nd base, starting one of the quickest 4-6-3 double plays ever seen!  The Cobras got a scare when Erik Quarberg was hit on the spine at 3rd by a thrown ball from their pitcher after a horrible bunt attempt by Germar.  Although he remained on the ground for a few minutes, Quarberg refused to leave the game, saying it was "merely a flesh wound" and "he was fine". Tough guy award coming.  There was no post game action as Sele (beer batter) was absent due to a modeling commitment, therefore there was no need for rug coverage which was also absent (Krause).  No time to rest as the Cobras return to league action tonight at 6:15 at Parade versus the Rats.

Cobras Stage Big Comeback, Top Merchants 12-8.

The Cobras picked up their 3rd straight league win with a 12-8 victory over the Metro Merchants.  It was a back and forth game throughout until the Merchants scored a handful in the 5th inning to take a 3 run lead.  The Cobras battled back to make it 8-7 entering the top of the 7th.  The Cobras would take advantage of the Merchants wheels falling off...scoring 5 in the 7th.  Alex Gustafson not only would vulture the win, but would slam the door in the bottom of the 7th.  Big comeback.

Highlights are as follows...

  • KT caught 2 pop flys, tying his career record.
  • Borman gunned a guy out from center...oh wait...
  • Rink man mashed a ball to left, Mason crossfit a ball to right.
  • There was a phantom tag at 2nd base.  The ump said he tagged his belt.
  • There was a lack of rug coverage in the lot due to Jake Krause not being there.
  • David "Dan" Reyes went 3-3 in defending himself in court.
  • Erik Quarberg almost hit into a triple play for the beer frame of the century.

The Cobras next game is Saturday vs Hampton.  Lets play 2.  Doubleheader starts at 2pm.

Sean Borman 5-5, 4 2B, 3B, 8RBI...Cobras Smash Blue Sox 15-3

The Cobras picked up a Park National League victory over the Blue Sox on Tuesday night by the score 15-3.  A lot of Cobras had hits on the night, but none more than Sean Borman who went stat mongering.  Borman finished 5-5 with 4 doubles, a triple and 8 RBI.  The Blue Sox simply could not play far enough back, as his last towering shot to center resulted in the elusive triple.  Had the Cobras been playing at Dick Cassidy, he might have had 4 HR.  J.E. Urseth, Zach Munsterman and Marcus Barone combined to shut down the Blue Sox in a game that had 0 earned runs.

Highlights of the game / court.

  • Ryan Nelson did book, and it looked like an etch a sketch by the end.  Book Fiasco.
  • Erik Quarberg did some anti-stat mongering and let everyone know about his 0-5 performance.
  • David "Dan" Reyes kept pushing his lead in the race for the Kahtan Al-Dollar Dollar Factory award race by getting fined 3 times (one of which by the umpire).
  • J.E. Urseth re-laced a 6 year olds glove in the lot.  The kid is "the only kid who can catch" on Matt Germar's little league team he coaches.
  • A new Cobras term was coined.  "The Suicide Single".  This happens when you get a single and you are still dissapointed.  Dan Reyes was the inventor.

The Cobras next game is Thursday vs the Metro Merchants.  8:30pm at Parade.

Cobras Top Austin 8-4, Rained Out Sunday Vs Rochester

Cobras traveled down to SpamTown USA for a non-league game vs the Austin Greyhounds.  Weather was looking suspect but the thick Hormel Foods-based air kept the main storms away from the ballfield.  Matt Germar got the start and was especially excited that the Cobras team hotel for the evening was right across from Worlein Funeral Home...one of his top accounts.

The Cobras would get on the board when Sean Borman would go oppo bomb off the scoreboard in left.  He sprinted out of the box, thinking it was only a double, but when he realized it was gone he downshifted into an especially slow jog.  The Cobras would tally 17 hits on the night with Jake Krause, Mason Reinhart, Mike Lenertz and Matt Borman all tallying multiple hits.  John Wengenroth and J.E. Urseth would close down the victory for the snakes.

The parking lot had a lot of rug coverage, this time with a patriotic red and blue spread.  Germar and Wengenroth were fined for not having PFP (Perfect Fielding Positions - Ask Rink).  Reinhart was fined for nearly falling down after swinging at a hanging curveball.  Ryan Sele was fined for some "Bat Agression" on his DeMarini.  The Cobras then traveled back to the hotel where they ate appetizer samplers and played big buck hunter and pool.

Sunday was rained out against Rochester...everyone was "Reyesing" due to the long drive and no game.  Most Cobras went to the "House of Coates" after...Germar and Wengenroth had the Sunday Ribs and Chicken special.  Naps followed for all Cobras.

The Cobras next game is Tuesday at 8:30pm vs the Blue Sox at Parade.

Quarberg Hits 3 Run Bomb, Cobras Top Rats 7-5

The Cobras picked up their first league victory in 2014 with a 7-5 victory over the River Rats on Wednesday night.  Ryan Nelson picked up the victory on the mound for the snakes tossing 4 innings giving up a lone run on a solo shot to right center.  The Cobras would push the lead to 7-1 at one point...powered by a Erik Quarberg 3 run home run to left center.  Things would get interesting in the last inning as the Rats would claw back with 4 runs.  3 came on a two out home run to left.  David "Dan" Reyes almost went over the wall in his attempt to catch it, but "didnt want to ruin his good looks."

Highlights otherwise include...

  • Every Cobra got into the game (19 in total)
  • Matt Rink showed up 1 minute before game time and ran directly into LF
  • Matt Germar pinch hit himself into the beer frame
  • Jake Krause brought out the red carpet
  • Mike Lenertz popped the cork on his first hit of the year and also made two great defensive plays
  • Mason Reinhart and Germar got into a verbal battle after a double to RF by Matt Borman, Jake Krause asked if they were done talking while standing in the box.
  • Gabe McDonald was fined for a flagrant bat toss.
  • Reyes is now in the lead for the Kahtan Al-Dollar Dollar Factory Award.

Cobras travel to Austin and Rochester this weekend.  Should be a fun trip.

Cobras Lose Pitchers Duel 1-0 To Angels

The Cobras lost a close game to the Angels 1-0 Tuesday at Dick Cassidy Field in Minneapolis.  J.E. Urseth had a great outing spoiled by a solo home run in the 4th inning by Angels Vet Mike Carrell.  Cobras hitters struck out 14 times and managed only 1 hit.  Toilet.

Cobras will attempt to right the "Park National ship" Wednesday vs the River Rats.  6:15pm at Dick Cassidy Field.

Cobras Fall To Lyon's Pub 5-4 in 8 innings.

The Cobras lost a close game to the Lyon's Pub Warriors on Thursday 5-4 in extra innings.  Both teams battled back and forth the entire game.  Starter Ryan Nelson fought a very inconsistent strike zone for 5 innings with Marcus Barone and Alex Gustafson in relief.  Matt Rink and Matt Borman had excellent diving catches in the outfield.  The Cobras would lead 2-0, before a few miscues and Pub hits would bring it back to even.  The Pub would eventually lead 4-3 in the 6th inning...John Wengenroth had a huge RBI single to tie the game up 4-4.  Ultimately the Pub would hit a leadoff triple in the 8th, and score that run on a sac fly to RF.  A close game, won by the home team in their last at bat between two state tournament participants from last year...good baseball.

The parking lot was strong again, as beer was stocked up and some were off of work the next day.  Pizza was ordered late, courtesy of PJs and the 50% off deal.  Several Cobras "grenade'd" themselves in court.  Barone was fined for cutting off Q entering the parking lot.  It is to be noted that this webmaster approves of cutting off Q entering the parking lot.

The Cobras have the holiday weekend off before facing the Angels Tuesday at Dick Cassidy Field in Minneapolis.  Gametime is 6:15pm.  Have a great weekend.

Pictured above is Kevin Truax, who is so dedicated he takes BP in his dress clothes.  A prime example of professionalism.

Cobras Top Coon Rapids 4-1

The Cobras travelled to Coon Rapids on Wednesday night and picked up a nice victory heading into Park National League play.  Starter J.E. Urseth whispered a quiet "cutter-mania" into the ears of the Redbirds, who could not get much going offensively.  The Cobras took the early lead in the first when Ryan Sele would score on a passed ball.  Erik Quarberg was at bat at the time and you could hear him yell "Noooo!!! My RBI!!!".

The game would stay 1-0 until the 6th inning when John Wengenroth would single in Mason Reinhart to make it 2-0.  The Redbirds would make it 2-1 in the 7th on a sacrifice fly but the Cobras would extend their lead in the 8th when Matt Borman would "crush" a bloop over the 3rd basemans head scoring 2 runs before Gabe McDonald would unleash his Kung-Fu Slide into 3rd.  It is called a kung fu slide because you stop short of your target, then extend your leg in attempt to reach the target.  Gabe was, as you probably guessed, called out.  FNG Zach Munsterman would relieve Urseth and pitch a scoreless 8th and 9th inning to lock down the victory for the snakes.

In the parking lot the Cobras remained undefeated on the season.  Gabe was fined for going "Suns Out Guns Out" pregame, and then showed us "Stars Out Guns Out" postgame.  Munsterman was fined for wearing white pants.  David "Dan" Reyes somehow skated for not paying attention on around the horn because he was too busy giving Ryan Sele the number of outs.  A new term was coined in the lot..."Reyes'ing".  This term is for the reaction when you look like your dog died after you get out.  A number of new handshakes were created in the lot...look for them in the coming games.

The Cobras open up league play against perrenial power Lyon's Pub on Thursday.  6:15pm at Parade.

Cobras Rained Out vs Baseball 365

Makeup Date TBD

Borman Hits Grand Slam, Cobras Rally To Defeat Forest Lake 5-3

The Cobras rallied to win a close game with Class B Forest Lake on Sunday night 5-3.  Starter Ryan Nelson, fully-healed from a battle with a swine flu type sickness, went 6 strong innings and earned the victory.  The Brewers would jump out to an early 2-0 lead on a tricky hop error and texas league single.  Matt Borman played pepper with the RF wall leading off the game, but was stranded at 2b in the first inning.  Matt Rink man mashed a ball to left only to see it caught at the warning track.  It seemed that the Cobras were not having any luck on Sunday.

Things would turn around in the 7th inning.  With two outs, Jake Krause, John Wengenroth and J.E. Urseth would all reach on singles.  Gabe MacDonald would work a long at bat into a walk, scoring Krause.  Matt Borman would take a 0-2 pitch and slam it over the RF wall for a go ahead grand slam.  That would prove to be all the Cobras needed...Matt Eickman and Matt Germar shut the door on the Brewers and the Cobras would score a big victory heading into Park National League play.

In the parking lot the Cobra Kai would roll out the black carpet (Parking Lot Sponsor - Cintas, Jake Krause Sales Rep).  Ryan Sele brought an auxillary case of beer which is especially admirable since he is sober and was operating on 4 hours of sleep for the entire weekend.  Sean Borman was the calmest Cobra in the lot.  Krause was fined for being picked off horribly at 1st during the game.  Tyler Miller was fined for wondering why he had the opportunity to pinch run in the game.

The Cobras open up league play this week.  Come out to Parade and enjoy a game.

Cobras Beat Hastings 8-5

The Cobras travelled to Hastings on Friday night in search of their first win of the season.  The Cobras would jump out to an early and commanding lead.  David "Dan" Reyes would collect an RBI single in his first at bat followed with a bases loaded 3RBI double in his second at bat.  Matt Borman got very angry after some dugout comments and smashed an RBI double at one point.  Cobras starting pitcher John Wengenroth kept the Hastings squad off balance for 5 innings, giving way to Tyler Miller and Marcus Barone who locked down the victory.  Gabe McDonald spelled Reyes in LF and attemped a "titty catch" but failed to secure the ball.

The parking lot was full of Cobras, beer and fines.  One of the most agressive court session in this webmasters memory.  David "Dan" Reyes was the star of the show, being fined 3 times while successfully skating twice.  Lenny was fined for not wearing a helmet on deck (again).  In total 15 dollars was raised for the Cobras end of the year party in one night.

The Cobras play Forest Lake on Sunday at 6pm before starting league play on Monday.

Cobras Lose Softball Game 15-11 to St.Louis Park

The Cobras travelled to the baseball cathedral known as "Lighted Ballfield" in New Hope Wednesday for a slowpitch game against the St.Louis Park town team.  The game was what most would call ugly througout aided by long wet grass and artic shelf-like temeratures.  Even the umpire said screw this and showed up late.  Matt Germar made his umpiring debut behind the mound for a portion of the first inning, he had an argument with himself on the size of his strikezone and almost tossed himself.

The SLP team would jump out to a early an commanding lead, scoring 2 in the first and 7 in the second inning.  Starter J.E. Urseth provided a good 4 rounds of BP during the game before giving way to Alex Gustafson and John Wengenroth who looked much better.  Defensively the Cobras played about as well as the field looked.

The bright spot for the Cobras was on the offensive side of the scoresheet.  The Cobras clawed back from a 11-2 deficit to make it 13-11 at one point.  Almost everyone had hits for the Kai.  FNG David Reyes had his first Cobras hit, an RBI single...and despite looking like his dog died on several occasions, looked pretty good in Cobras blue.  Jake Krause thought some Saints scouts were in attendance for the game and had a multi-hit, multi-RBI game.

The parking lot battle was cold, windy and brief...however the Cobras still managed to outlast SLP who got out of dodge quickly.  There were even more rugs than normal courtesy of Jake Krause.  The only fines written in the book were for Erik Quarberg, who left immediately after the game.  Rob Gossard and his dog made an appearance.  Lenny provided some Lost Lake Golden Light Lager beer that was neither light nor good.

The Cobras look to put one in the win column on Friday against Hastings.  8pm start time in Hastings.

Cobras Rained Out vs Burnsville

Next game Wednesday vs St.Louis Park.

Cobras Get Sloppy 3rds against St.Paul Saints and Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks

The Cobras were lucky enough to participate in the 3-Way at Midway XXXhibition game Friday.  The format was strange, the Cobras were idle for the first 6 innings and 3 of the 4 Cobras pitchers had not pitched yet this season.  In other words, rust was evident.  There were some highlights.

  • Jake Krause smashed a ball to the wall in his first at bat...Erik Quarberg got thrown out at the plate trying to score from first.
  • J.E. Urseth maintained a perfect home run record when he correctly called that the first batter he would face would hit a bomb off him.
  • Matt Rink made a diving catch, it was awesome.  The catch vindicated him after his error two plays prior, fans in the outfield were all over him.
  • Quarberg hit a booming double that he thought was gone, it would have been but he uses a fake bat.
  • Matt Germar had the slowest recorded pitch of the game.  His curve hit 54 MPH.

The Cobras have to thank the Saints and Redhawks for inviting us to play.  It was an honor representing the MBA.

If weather ever improves the Cobras will play another game.

Cobras Play Extra Sloppy Against Hopkins, Drop Season Opener 4-1

Opening Day 2014.  The Cobras traveled to Big Willow to face the Hopkins Berries on Wednesday Night...promptly getting a cold dose of reality splashed in their face.  The Cobras hitting, defense and pitching was rusty...but like a good deisel engine, it just takes a little longer to get up to speed these days.  Once we are going, no one can stop us.

The Berries got off to a good start...taking advantage of some early location issues by starter John Wengenroth.  Wengy would settle down after a shaky first two innings to pitch 4 innings of two run ball.  Matt Borman would start his 2014 campaign off with two hits and a walk.  Borman worked a long at bat in the first inning, managing a single to RF only to have Mason Reinhart tagged out at home plate attempting to score from second.  It is of note that Reinhart never made it even close to home plate, yet got in a verbal altercation with the catcher over a phantom kick at the end of his slide.  "I could have destroyed you." Mason said to the young Berries catcher.

Borman's second at bat would produce the only run of the game for the Cobra Kai.  A booming double to CF would score a winded Jake Krause all the way from first base.  Krause noted that his speed was severely affected by a "gale force" headwind as he rounded third.  Matt Rink would skeet skeet on a ball in the 4th inning, only to have the same wind knock it down near the track.  Defense plagued the Cobras in the game...There was a "rental glove E4", an ejecto-glove in CF, and Erik Quarberg showed off his "defensive prowess" (as Kevin Carlson put it).  Overall, a good game to get some reps, but one to forget overall.  It is to be noted that on last year's opening day the Cobras lost 15-2...so this is a vast improvement.

In the parking lot the Cobras were in midseason form.  Krause was able to provide us with added rug coverage for the lot courtesy of Cintas.  There were frequent "zamboni passes" by a industrial broom to make sure that the lot was in proper sanitary conditions.  The normal "Kahtan Al-Dollar Dollar Factory Award" finalists emerged early with J.E. Urseth, Mike Lenertz and Quarberg each racking up 2 fines a piece.  FNG Kevin Carlson looked dapper with his hair gelled and a extra tight pullover on.  A verbal sparring match between Carlson and Urseth captivated the Cobras crowd as Carlson threatened to tell hitters what pitch Urseth was throwing ahead of time, while Urseth rebutted that they already knew what was coming.

The Cobras next game is "The Three Way at Midway" on Friday.  The Cobras will be facing the St.Paul Saints and the Fargo Moorhead Redhawks in a 3 way baseball game.  Apparently the Cobras are playing innings 7-12 of the game so plan your alcohol consumption accordingly.  Game time is 7:05pm at Midway Stadium in St.Paul.  See you there.

SAINTS FIND THIRD FOR THREE-WAY AT MIDWAY AS GAME GETS KINKY

ST. PAUL, MN (May 1, 2014) – Leave it to the St. Paul Saints to make a three-way even kinkier, but that’s exactly what they have done.  The most talked about exhibition game in franchise history, the Three-Way At Midway, the XXXhibition will be sponsored by KINKY Cocktails and there is now a third team in the mix, the Minneapolis Cobras on Friday, May 9 at 7:05 p.m.

KINKY Cocktails is a refreshing pink colored beverage with flavors of Mango, Passion Fruit and Blood Orange. Finishes with a light clean crisp taste! Easy to drink more than one on a hot summer day at the ball park!  KINKY Cocktails is the product of the St. Paul company Johnson Bros.  This is not the company’s first foray with the Saints.  Back in 1994 they introduced Sumo Wrestling to Midway Stadium when they brought their two sumo suits that they were using in bars and created a phenomenon at the ballpark.  Johnson Bros. has made the leap from fat suits to three-ways with the Saints.

The Saints and RedHawks have also found a third suitor for their XXXhibition game.  After sifting through numerous teams interested in getting down and dirty one stood out above all the rest, the Minneapolis Cobras a Class A Baseball Team in Minnesota.  They sent in not one, but two racy photos, and stated “we aren’t afraid to try new things.”  In addition, the roster they submitted stated that one of the player’s positions was “bald.”  The Saints aren’t quite sure what that means, but they are intrigued to find out.   The Cobras are made up of players from many of the local colleges and a few that have played Independent Baseball, including former Saint and RedHawks Jake Krause.

The Saints, RedHawks and Cobras will battle it out for 12 innings while at the same time raising money for amateur and youth baseball in Minnesota.  Portions of that games ticket sales along with auctions of Saints experiences, that are best enjoyed in a group, will be donated.

The rules of the game will be similar to that of a game against two teams: try and score as many times as possible.  Whether it’s going deep or spanking a base hit to drive someone in, the winner will be decided after each team has batted an equal number of times.

The game will be broadcast live on 105FM The Ticket with Saints broadcaster Sean Aronson and broadcast assistants Sam Hovan and J.W. Cox.

A three-way isn’t unprecedented in the world of baseball.  One took place on June 26, 1944 in a contest between the three New York teams, the Dodgers, Giants and Yankees.  The game known as the “Tri-Cornered Baseball Game” presented by War Bond Sports Committee and was carried out in support of the Allied Forces in World War II.  A number of New York sportswriters dreamt up the idea and netted more than $56,000,000 in bond purchases (although $50,000,000 came from the pockets of New York City and Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia).  The Dodgers scored five runs, the Yankees one run and the Giants were blanked in the nine inning affair.

The exhibition game begins at 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. and the parking lot opening at 4:00 p.m.  Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value.  Tickets are $6 for general admission, $9 for outfield reserved and $14 for infield reserved.  Friday home games with Post-Game Fireworks (except July 3, August 28) are an additional $2 per ticket.  Saints Special Event Home Games with Post-Game Fireworks Supershow (July 3, August 28) are an additional $3 per ticket.  Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket.  Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price.  Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.

Saints Box Office Hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  On game days, the Box Office will open at 9 a.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and will remain open until 15 minutes following each game.

Opening Day vs Dundas Has Been Cancelled Due To 40 Days and 40 Nights of Rain.

New opening day is May 7th vs Hopkins at Big Willow.

Some big news is about to be announced...stay tuned...

2014 Season Preview

Well, 2013 sure was fun.  A Park National League regular season title, a trip to state, and an eventual runner-up finish capped a more than memorable season.  All of that means ZERO now.  All we have now is a even larger target on our backs.  Time to go from 2nd to champs.

The Cobras return nearly their entire starting lineup from last season (minus Matt Youngquist who will be on a Kentucky hiatus until mid season).  The powerful middle of the lineup combo of Mason Reinhart, Erik Quarberg, Matt Borman and Matt Rink remains intact and sure to give opposing pitchers a fear-boner.  Added to the lineup will be Edina cake eater Kevin Carlson to supply the catching position with some extra flare.  The Cobras strength has always been hitting...2014 shapes up to be more of the same.

2014 will not be without its challenges.  The pitching staff will be much different than last year...but that's ok since "we had no pitching".  Ben Schroeder has taken a night job in Richmond, MN leaving the Cobra Kai without their Ace from last year.  To fill that void, Ryan Nelson will be returning to the Richtown Bombers glory days when he was a P-Nash all-star.  Nelson and J.E. Urseth will be tasked to log a bunch of innings, add to that mix Manager Matt Germar, John Wengenroth and even sprinkle in some Kevin Truax and the veteran Cobras seem in good shape.  Alex Gustafson will move into a closer role and according to his facebook check-ins, he has been working out daily.  New to the Cobras staff will be Hamline Ace Matt Eickman and St. John's sophomore Marcus Barone.

Cobras 2014 Wild Cards

  • J.E. Urseth is down 40 pounds and is no longer the fattest player in the league.
  • Ryan Sele is sober...look for him to steal many bases with his improved vision and dexterity.
  • Matt Germar has had his "interim" tag removed from his manger title.  Look for his veteran managerial savvy to shine.
  • Kevin Truax actually began a throwing program before the first game of the year.  Look for his arm to fall off come July.
  • Jake Krause has built up some fat commissions working for Cintas.  Look for some great rug coverage in the parking lot.
  • Erik Quarberg has stocked up on Manny Mota Pine Tar Sticks...look for him to never "hit like shit".

This year many Cobras get married...Youngquist, Urseth, Quarberg.  Hopefully come August we all get a State Title ring.

The Cobras season gets underway May 2nd with a trip to Dundas.  BEHOLD!
