11u league will use the Killarney plate (the oversize home plate)
Side Pitch/Soft Toss: For the first 3 weeks of the season, instead of a batter getting a walk after 4 balls they will be given a soft toss. Depending on what the strike count is will determine how many soft tosses they receive. (e (Exf the batter has 2 strikes and 4 balls, he will receive 1 soft toss. If the batter has 1 strike and 4 balls he will receive 2 soft tosses. If the batter has 0 strikes and 4 balls he will receive 3 soft tosses.) The batter may only run to first base off the soft toss, base runners may advance multiple bases. If the batter is unable to hit any of the soft tosses they are out. The coach must not be in the field of play for soft toss. This helps speed up the game, create more opportunities for fielding plays and results in more hits. Please encourage your kids to not sit and wait for soft toss.
