Pembina Hills 18U League Rules 2024 
 
A Home and Home Schedule will be played by all 4 Pembina Hills Teams with an additional game 
against Gladstone included.  Games against Gladstone will be exhibition only, and will not be counted 
for League standings. 
After each game the manager/coach of the Home Team needs to email the convenor @   
reidjc29@gmail.com with the following information:  date, teams playing, score, and number of 
innings played (for calculating defensive outs)  
Please make sure to confirm the pitch counts with the other team after each game. 
Baseball Manitoba is using the Pitch Count app for tracking pitch count.  Home Team will upload the 
pitches onto the app and invite the opposing team to approve. 
If a game is rained out or otherwise postponed, the manager/coach of the Home Team needs to email 
the convenor with the reason for postponing and the date of the make-up game. 
If a game is not completed by the end of the day on June 29 both teams will be credited with a tie.  

Playoffs (single elimination) will be set for the July 2  
Semi-Final #1 = 1 vs 4  
− Semi-Final #2 = 2 vs 3   
Semi-Final winners will play in the League Final, Semi-Final losers will play in the Consolation.  The 
higher seeded team (from League standings) will be the Host and Home team. 
In case of a tie in the league standings, the tie-breaking formula will be as follows: 
− Step 1: Head-to-Head record between tied teams 
− Step 2 (if still tied): Runs Against/Defensive Outs (for games between the tied teams) 
− Step 3 (if still tied): Runs Against/Defensive Outs (for all games - not including Gladstone) 
The League Champion will represent Pembina Hills at the 18U A Provincial Championships July 12-14 
in Portage.  

7 Inning Games 
All games will start at 7:00pm 
Maximum 6 runs scored per inning (Last inning is open) 
Unlimited Substitutions 
Teams may use “Everybody Bats” rule if both coaches agree, otherwise 9 Batters only (DH is allowed, 
no Extra Hitter) 
10 Run Mercy Rule - after 5 innings or 4 ½ if home team ahead. 

 Pitch Count for 2024: 
− 1-40  No Rest 
− 41-55  1 Day Rest 
− 56-70  2 Days Rest 
− 71-85  3 Days Rest 
− 86-105  4 Days Rest 
− Max number of pitches in 1 Day = 105
