Lennox Dak XII Game Announcement

It has been announced, the Lennox Orioles Varsity Basketball Team (7-6) will play the West Central Trojans (8-5) on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 3:15 in Hartford, South Dakota. It will be on location of the West Central High School gym, in which the Orioles have already played there. The address of the school is as follows: 705 East 2nd Street, Hartford, SD 57033.

The Orioles have already played the Trojans in Dakota XII Conference play already this season. The C Team and JV both earned wins over the West Central Trojans the first time. The C Team showed their supperior defense as they gave up a total of 14 points. In the first three quarters they gave up 5 points (1st- 3, 2nd- 2, 3rd- 0) and they added some high powered offense to go with the defense. They scored 32 Points which has been around their season average. Holdyn Breck led them with 12 points. As for the JV team, they won 36 to 28 in a good offensive game. Masen Oltmanns led the team with 18 Points and 9 rebounds. The Orioles played well in the first two games.

In the thrid game of the evening, the Varsity team played and showed a sign of struggle. The Orioles lost 58-45 in a good game. They showed a little struggle in the offensive area as they only scored 16 points in the first half. The Orioles would add 29 in the second half but they wouldn't have enough in the end. Hinker had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the team.

With the history of the Orioles already losing the Trojans, a new game back in Hartford, will be a fun game to watch. However, this isn't the only game to watch at this Conference Classic. At 10:00 (AM) the Beresford Wathcdogs (3-10) will play the Canton C-Hawks (1-11). These two teams have already played and Canton won 63-50. At 11:45 (AM), the Elk Point Jefferson Huskies (5-8) will play the Dakota Valley Black Panthers (5-8). These two teams will play in a Region 4A matchup on Friday the 6th and then they will play in the Classic on Saturday. At 1:30, the Tea Area Titans (6-8) will play the Vermillion Tanagers (6-8). These teams have already played and Vermillion won at a score of 65-53. After Lennox and at 5:00 (PM), the Madison Bulldogs (9-4) will play the Tri-Valley Mustangs (11-3). They played on December 16th at Tri-Valley, and the Mustangs won 57-54. Finally, at 6:45 PM, the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers (11-2) will play the Dell Rapids Quarriers (11-1). Last time they played, Dell Rapids beat Sioux Falls at a score of 69-57.

This year is the 2nd annual Dakota XII Conference Classic and it is set up to be a classic to remember. So come and watch the Lennox Orioles take on the sharp shooting West Central Trojans at 3:15 PM on Saturday.

Shoutouts of the Week: Shoutout to Jacob Hinker for his great game versus the Madison Bulldogs on Tuesday. He was named the Player of the Game as he had 21 Points and 14 rebounds. Shoutout to Coach Mike Oltmanns on turning the big 60 this past Wednesday. Coach O (as many people know him) has been dedicated to turning the younger population of Lennox into fit and healthy kids. Coach O has been a huge influence on the Lennox Orioles organization. Thanks for your input and hard work, Coach O.
