Wolfpack Swept In Final Weekend Series

Posted August 14, 2018

The Wolfpack dropped their final two games of the regular season at the hands of the Longhorns Saturday evening to finish the season with a 13-9 record, good for a 5th place finish in the standings.

After a red-hot start to the season that saw the Wolfpack jump out to an 8-1 record and average close to ten runs per game offensively, the second half of the season proved to not be as kind. The Pack stumbled to the tune of a 5-8 record down the stretch as the bats cooled off and were no longer able to dig them out of holes that walks and errors were putting them in.

The team has a week to tighten things up before taking on the defending champion Calgary Cardinals in the first round of the postseason at 9am and 12pm on Saturday August 18th.

Player of the week (Jul 19/20)

Russell Strilchuk

Wolfpack Rookie of the Year candidate Russell Strilchuk has broken out over the past week with two home runs, one of the walk off variety, in the Wolfpack's series against the White Sox. He led the team with six RBI this week and was just shy of batting .500 going 5-11 at the dish.
