On a rainy, chilly Thursday, March 21st baseball game at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Flames that ended in a 5-3 Bulldog defeat, freshmen Caleb Royston and Morgan Lyons were bright spots for the visiting Hampton baseball club. Making his first career Varsity start, Royston surrendered only one earned run over 4 and 1/3 innings of work, striking out nine FCA batters, several with a sharp breaking ball. At the plate, Royston also drew a walk (BB) and stole a bag. The other half of the catcher/pitcher battery, Morgan Lyons continues to show why he is such a highly thought of athlete on the campus of Hampton High School, as the big, athletic backstop had two base hits, scored two runs, and also stole a bag.
Junior, Weston Street continued his hitting streak with a base hit to start the game for the visiting Bulldogs.
