A Diamond in the Rough

Freshman Chase Davenport is off to a blazing start through the first 11 games of his freshman campaign.  The humble, affable second baseman, known more for scoring a basketball, is scoring on the baseball diamond, as he is second on the team with 13 Runs scored.  Having been moved up to the number two slot in the batting order, Davenport is hitting . 500 (17-34), with 11 Runs Batted In (RBI), and 8 Stolen Bases.  Like many of our players, Chase is being "baptized by fire," thrown right into the mix and learning on the fly, but we are excited about the start he is off to.
