Man, it was nice to get a win on Friday. The stress and pressure, even if only internally, was starting to build for many of us in the Hampton Bulldog Baseball program. We know, we preach that our program is not focused solely on winning. We preach that we want to give the young men a great experience, teach life lessons, help our student athletes grow as young men, and be positive influences on their lives, but the scoreboard is on, we are competing against other teams, we do put a lot of time, thought, and effort into this, so not seeing the results we want, even knowing we are up against it a little bit with injuries, was tough.
Today, Monday, April 1st, sophomore right hander, Josh Owens will make his second career Varsity start (his first was at the Cloudland Highlanders in 2018). In this his first game on the bump in 2019, J. Owens will be held to a 40-50 pitch cap. The plan is to bring in freshman, Morgan Lyons from behind the dish to relieve Owens.
We learned this morning that junior left hander, ace, Dalton Rouse has been cleared to resume light throwing. This is great news for Bulldog Baseball. Although Dalton's bat has heated up as designated hitter, we miss what he provides our program when he is up on that hill in the middle of the infield.
We appreciate each of you. We are all, coaches, players, parents, families, fans building this program together!
