Wolfpack Drop To 9-4 With Loss To Giants

Posted June 27, 2019

The Wolfpack made it exciting late, but couldn't come out on top Wednesday night and dropped their third straight game in league play. After roaring to a 9-1 start, they've stumbled lately trying to get that elusive tenth win.

The bats and, uncharacteristaclly, the defense were sound in this one, the only error that was committed in the field did ultimately lead to a big fourth inning for the Giants, but by no means did it cost the Wolfpack this game. If there is to be any concensus on where the Pack fell flat on Wednesday night, it was with timely hitting. As a team they went 2-14 (.143) with RISP, and the utter lack of clutch at the plate cost them this game.

The Wolfpack are back in action July 6th for a doubleheader against the Guns as they attempt to cross the threshold of double digit wins for the sixth consecutive year.

Player of the week (Jul 19/20)

Russell Strilchuk

Wolfpack Rookie of the Year candidate Russell Strilchuk has broken out over the past week with two home runs, one of the walk off variety, in the Wolfpack's series against the White Sox. He led the team with six RBI this week and was just shy of batting .500 going 5-11 at the dish.
