As we look for our 12th and 13th wins of the season on Thursday at Scotty Bunton Field vs. the Hancock County Indians, here are a few noteworthy things going on inside Bulldog Baseball.
*Morgans Lyons has had a very good offensive season. The junior catcher is hitting .441 with 8 doubles, 21 runs scored and 25 RBI.
*Josh Owens is as hot as any hitter in the state right now. Since being moved to the designated hitter spot, Owens has 15 hits in 16 at-bats, including going 3-3 with 3 RBI on Tuesday at Thomas Stadium against University High. Josh is now hitting .462 on the season with a .576 on base percentage!!
*Freshman, Chance Point had another infield hit and stole a base, to give the rookie 23 stolen bases on the year.
*Conor Jones is up to .250 on the year in the batting average category (with a .391 on base percentage) after his two hits on Tuesday at University High. After not playing baseball since "coach pitch," what Jones is doing is so impressive
*After Caleb Royston's 90 pitch relief effort on Tuesday in Johnson City, Bulldog Baseball has yet to have a pitcher reach the 100 pitch mark in 2021. It's not a numbr the coaching staff is against by any means, but not a number we want to force when it is not needed.
