In a wild, back-and-forth game, the Bulldogs and Raiders were fighting for their postseason lives Tuesday night.
After each striking for a run in the first. Hampton took a 2-1 after the second following a double by Collin Morgan, a sacrifice bunt by McKinley Kuhn, and a sacrifice fly by Brody Hicks.
North got the run back in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the game at 2.
In the 5th inning, Hampton was able to cash in a single by Chance Point (who went 2-4 on the day) to take the lead 3-2.
North responded in their half of the inning by bringing home a leadoff walk by Brayden Ketron.
The Bulldogs struck for 2 in the 6th with a bunt by Kuhn that scored Josh Owens and Caleb Royston.
The Raiders responded with 3 in the bottom of the 6th to take a 6-5 lead into the 7th.
Hampton took the lead back following a leadoff single by Point, a double in the left-center field gap by Morgan Lyons to score Point, and an RBI groundout by Owens.
Owens then closed the door in the 7th to give Hampton the win.

Owens 1-3 and 2 RBI
Kuhn 1-2 and 2 RBI
Sophomore Josh Whitson pitched quality 3.1 innings to bridge the gap for Owens, who hadn’t pitched since April 16, so to close the door for 1.1 innings.
Hampton is 16-11.
