Have A Day, J-Whitty!!

Baileyton, Tennesssee has been a tough place to win for many-a ball club for years!! We do not take our win on Monday, April 4 at North Greene lightly. We rode the narrow shoulders of a tall, thin, quiet, kind, talented junior right handed pitcher!
Junior, Josh Whitson had a moment in the sun! "Whit" threw 104 pitches over 6 2/3 innings, 77 of them for strikes. He surrendered only 5 hits, 0 earned runs, walked no one, and struck out 8 North Greene Huskie batters. Whitson threw 17 first pitches strikes to the 28 batters he faced. He got ahead in the count and showed a calm and composure that made us all proud.
If we are able to play at Scotty Bunton Field today, Tuesday, April 5, the Huskies will come ready to play. Caleb Royston will be waiting for them on the mound.
Our lineup is not featuring anyone hitting the cover off of the ball, but it features and entire batting order that is hitting well. We left too many on base early yesterday, but we slowly expanded our lead. Collin Morgan's 3 base knocks led the way, but Conor Jones followed with a single and a double. Brody Hicks continued to contribute on offense with 2 hits, including one over the head of the drawn in North Greene First Baseman to knock in 2 runs. Chance Point hit his first career triple. Jonathan Greenwell continues to be a steady addition to our ball club, as he knocked in a run and filled in for Kyler Lewis, who had the stomach bug, in centerfield. McKinley Wayne Kuhn had a base knock and another beautiful sacrifice bunt. Seth Hughes scored a big run off of the bench, pinch running for Kuhn. It was a total team win!
