Jets continue hotstreak!

The SW Jets saw another four point weekend after a pair of games. The Jets made the icy trek to Kenora to face the Thistles the first time this season. The Thistles came out strong on the small ice surface but the Jets fended them off with a strong performance from Derek Poirier in net. The game went and forth and the Jets (with three AP’s in the line-up) pulled off a gutsy performance coming out on top by a score of 4-2.
The Jets then faced the Central Snipers Sunday after a good day’s rest Saturday. The Snipers came out strong with a solid forecheck, giving the Jets all that they could handle in the first period. The Jets, back-stopped by Zaiden MacDonald-Horvath in his first game since an injury and illness kept him away, regrouped in the second and started to play a better two-way game. The Jets managed to pocket three goals in the second period to give them a 3-0 lead going into the third. In the third period the teams traded goals with 4-1 being the final score.
The Jets are back to work this week at practice before they go into the busiest weekend of the season where they will face Dauphin and the Pembina Valley Twisters Friday and Saturday, and then made the trip to Holland for a matinee against the Pembina Valley Rockets.
