INTERLEAGUE GAMES

We will be playing Van Buren Co. and Bonaparte again.  All teams will be playing by the same rules!

LOCAL RULES

BOYS ROOKIES

Rookies will be using the pitching machine at the regular mound location during   practices and games. There will not be any player or coach pitching. Batters will get a max. of 5 pitches per at bat or 3 strikes. Foul balls on 5th pitch batter will get another pitch.  Home is closed. 

  Stealing is allowed at 2nd and 3rd base.  No stealing home or advancing home on over throw of 3rd on a steal attempt.  Runners must be batted home.  No walks allowed.

   No stealing is allowed if the ball goes behind the catcher’s box.  It is considered a dead ball. Runners can not advance.  There will be a chalked line used for reference 3 feet behind the point of home plate. 

     The offensive coach loads the pitching machine.  Defensive coaches are still allowed to be on the field.  An offensive coach is behind the plate.

GIRL’S ROOKIES LOCAL RULES FOR SOFTBALL (ages 6-8)

GIRL’S MINORS LOCAL RULES FOR SOFTBALL (ages 8-10)

Girl’s Minors softball will be an instructional league focusing on the fundamentals of the game.  It will be a player/coach pitch league. No walks will be issued.  The coach will pitch to the batter once 4 balls are thrown by the player and will assume the current count of strikes and balls. The coach will be allowed to throw a maximum of 4 pitches to the batter. NO FOUL OUTS! If a foul ball occurs on the 4th coach pitch another coach pitch will be awarded until the ball is put into play or the batter misses. Each girl will be allowed to pitch six innings per week. Girls Minors is a mandatory play league with everybody getting a chance to hit in the lineup.  There are only 10 players allowed on the field at a time. We will also be using the 5 run per inning limit or 3 outs. Game times will be limited to 90 minutes or 6 innings.

 (Special note for 6 yr old girls - you can register for t ball or softball - on “Sport” on the “Options” page, use baseball for t ball or change the box to softball)

 Parents – you may not know, but you can buy-out your turn in the concession stand for $65 per child; this does not include umpiring.
