Posted Jun 4/12 - Dodgers Bats Wake Up Against a Lindless Blue Jays Team

Up to this point, the Dodgers have largely been winning games with their stellar defense. Sure, they managed 15 runs in a solid first day of the tournament a week ago, but their opponents were obviously named for the mounds of beer they were pounding back. Awesomely fun team, but lacking in coordination. Tonight, after a tentative first game that saw an uncharacteristically bad defensive inning result in a loss, the team roared back with 26 runs in four innings for a game two victory and a traditional Dodgers split. The team was helped by some errors, but they were also finding the holes. Rob uncharacteristically wasn't finding any holes. It's a good thing he's pretty.

Posted May 17/12 - Dodgers Press on through Adversity

Another week of games, another week of absentee reporting. I was covering the Arctic Monkeys/Black Keys concert, which was most excellent but seriously deficient in giant, foam-spewing dick cannons. Maybe they'll work one into their next tour. Fortunately, I have an always reliable cadre of informants and scouts so that I never miss a slo-pitch beat.

Posted May 8/12 - It's Spring and Balls are in the Air

Everyone's favourite reporter is back to bring all the latest news about everyone's favourite team named after a Charles Dickens literary character. I was too busy investigating the reefs of Aruba last week to attend opening day, but Artful Dodgers manager Heather Beattie was happy to report that all cylinders were firing for two big wins. The bats got some keys hits, base-running was crafty, the defense was solid and Rob's girl hormones were kept firmly in check. Not as firm as Bird at the Opeth concert on Sunday, but pretty damn firm.

Posted Oct 1/11 - Dodgers Start Fall Playoffs with a Bang

The Dodgers apparently saved their best for last. After all the round robin dust had settled, the Dodgers were ranked #1 for the Rec Division. Despite the insane winds out there, the Dodgers managed to find both their bats and their gloves at the same time to finish the day with 2 wins and 1 tie, scoring 57 runs in the process and hammering 11 HR (wind assisted, but still impressive).

Posted Sep 30/11 - Dodgers Experiment with a Sieve at SS and Fail

Monday's game was a tight affair (like Rob's vagina) in which the Dodgers almost blew a 7 run lead only to be saved by a clutch Barth single in the bottom of the sixth. In Barth's own words, "I totally saved their brutal asses! It's too bad I won't be around for playoffs, 'cause these guys clearly need me."

Posted Sep 18/11 - Solid tournament showing

The Dodgers played an impressive round robin and playoffs in the September tourney despite being shorthanded and, on Sunday, fielding several players that were nursing hangovers. While the players of the tourney may have been Yhana and Rob with their impressive performances at the plate and Rob's consistency at finding the strike zone despite the crazy winds and his sore vagina, the play of the tournament was Mike Roy being nailed at home plate after getting a little greedy. Don't mess with the Shaun-Shawna combo, Mike.

Posted Sep 15/11 - Bats not enough to overcome missing rover

The Dodgers lost another one, this time by a wide margin. Although it would be easy to blame the defense, there were actually several solid plays out there. Our lack of a rover allowed several balls to find green, but the other three outfielders were able to make some great catches despite the blinding sun.

Posted Sep 13/11 - Solid D Not Enough as Dodgers Lose a Close One

The Dodgers played some excellent defense last night, forcing their opponents to really earn their runs. Unfortunately, the bats remained frozen and the Dodgers only managed to cobble together 4 runs in 7 innings, thanks largely to Doogs' 2-run homerun.
