ST. PAUL, Minn., - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has honored five members of the Presentation baseball team with all-conference accolades.

MOUNT VERNON — Cole Wenande had a home run and a double to lead the Hanson County Ducks to a 9-4 win over the Mount Vernon/Woonsocket/Sanborn Central Outlaws in a high school baseball game Monday afternoon.

AUGUSTANA 9, ST. CLOUD ST. 0 at Ronken Field - Tyson Gau pitched a five-hitter and Nate Baumann drove in four runs as the Vikings won the first game of a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader.

Presentation's baseball team won all three games of an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tripleheader with Crown on Sunday.

MOUNT VERNON — Cody London threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Mount Vernon/Woonsocket/Sanborn Central high school baseball team to an 11-0 win over Wagner/Avon on Thursday night.

Due to weather and field conditions, the Outlaws' season opener for Sunday, March 27 versus Parkston has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 pm. The varsity game will be played first, followed by the junior varsity game.

Expectations are high surrounding the Presentation College baseball team.

GOLDEN, Colo. - Augustana split its doubleheader with the Colorado School of Mines on Sunday in Golden, Colo., falling 13-7 in Game 1 and winning 17-10 in Game 2.

Following collegiate baseball, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) will no longer be allowing the use of 100% BESR composite bats for high school baseball.

ALEXANDRIA — Wessington Springs/Mount Vernon/Hanson/Ethan defeated Wagner/Avon 13-0 in four and one-half innings Sunday in Alexandria in a high school baseball game.

Pierce Smith pitched five innings and struck out seven to lead the Outlaws baseball team to a 5-3 win over Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian on Monday evening.

VERMILLION - The Outlaws varsity team swept a doubleheader today by scores of 8-0 in game 1 and 6-1 in game 2. Game 1 highlights consisted of starting pitcher, Kaleb Kopfmann, pitching 6 strong innings giving up just 2 hits, no runs, 3 walks with 11 K's. At the plate, the Outlaws were led by Trevor Doyle (2-2 with two doubles and 4 RBI's) and Zach London (2-2)

Posted Apr 9/10 - Outlaws Defeat Wagner/Avon

WAGNER - After a disappointing loss to the Parkston Trojans on Thursday, the Outlaws quickly got back on the winning track by defeating Wagner/Avon, 10-2. The Outlaws collected 16 hits and played solid defense behind starting pitcher, Nate Zens, who picked up his first win of the season on the mound. Helping his own cause at the plate, Zens, was also one of the leading hitters for the Outlaws, going 2-4 with two doubles and two RBI's.

PARKSTON - Things just didn't go the Outlaws way Thursday, April 8 versus Division rival, the Parkston Trojans, as 3 crucial errors were made and only 5 scattered hits were managed. Of the two, the 3 errors proved most costly, as 3 unearned runs were plated on those errors. The scored ended at 5-3 in favor of the Trojans.

HARRISBURG — The Outlaws baseball team picked up its third win of the year Thursday with a 3-2 victory over Harrisburg running their overall record to 3-1.

The Outlaws have started the 2010 season on a high note. After dropping its non-region season opener, the Outlaws picked up two big region wins, running their overall record to 2-1 and 2-0 in Region 1B.

Former Outlaw Ace, Tyson Gau, picked up his second win (2-0) on the mound for NCAA DII Augustana College. Gau, a true freshman, earned his first win on the mound pitching against NCAA DII opponent Concordia University out of St. Paul, MN. He had a no hitter that was broke up in the 5th inning. Due to field conditions, the following schedule changes have been announced.

Senior captain and starting short stop, Zach London, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play collegiate baseball at NAIA Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD.

Former Outlaw, Spencer Sudbeck, was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week for the week of March 15, 2010.

The SMVHEW high school baseball team decided to drop the Knights mascot and logo when it released Stickney from the co-op.

Posted Dec 12/09 - New Look for the 2010 Season

The team has released Stickney from their high school baseball co-op that consist of Mt. Vernon, Hanson and Ethan, so that they could form a new co-op team with Corsica, whom they have co-oped with for all sports. In replacement, two new schools have joined the co-op for the 2010 season. They are Woonsocket and Springs. The offical new co-op name will be SMVHEW (Springs-Mt. Vernon-Hanson-Ethan-Woonsocket).
