For when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he asks not if you won

Rockets take two from the  ft wayne red sox sat at runkle-miller field, 3-1 and 13-0

Happy july everybody, all Portland is playing pick up sticks, but the rockets prevailed thru rain, wind, trees falling on the fence and more rain

Miles just keeps showing up doing good deeds, he carved up the tree that made its way to the rocket bullpen.  Now  come the good stuff.

Dan bollenbacher, rocket ace from berne, pitched a gem----in the second game dan pitched a no-hitter---he struck out the 1^st nine hitters, and 12 of the 16 he faced beating the ft wayne club 13- 0.  that’s a pitcher’s dream a no-no. no hits 68 pitches one hr. 23 min. rockets also had a strong game one performance from billy geeslin of coldwater,  a 2 hitter and 10 ks in an hr 37 min.  a doubleheader in 3 hr---might be a record.

Dalton tinsely has shown he likes the lead off spot in the batting order, Dalton lead the offense with 4 hits on the day, 2 triples and a double, also tripling and doubling grant hendershot, triple by Kirby Campbell, and another home run off the bat of mitch waters.

On hand many former rockets= Laramie van skyock, keith nunley, coach david waters, Jordan Steiner and especially nice visit with #12 rocket captain of 6 years heath Williams. The tournament trails he and I have shared are many, canton, Cincinnati, ft wayne, Evansville, kokomo, wow.  Did I mention don and marilyn maloy were there?  hey good luck charm zeth rupe was there.  and a whole host of wellman watch billy get some time in behind the plate.  Coach Maloney of ball state wants billy to get some work in behind the dish and each player has a summer assignment to read a book---that’s unique ---the lone survivor

You bet I am going to read it.  I heard todd Steiner of berne recounting old days, he said, you haven’t lived unless you’ve been to a softball game at riverside park in new corydon.

Rockets play next sat and sun in south bend at kennedy park, vs. the south bend sultans, and the michiana scrappers.  Then tues its crossroads nite in Portland,  that is always a big nite on the docket---I heard becky white on radio this morning,,,she makes me smile

We remember her son shane as a rocket pitcher a few years ago, drafted by  the pros right out of high school. Janet jeanna and gillispie, they sure made us feel welcome in our visit to crossroads fri.  free food, handed out some schedules

Rockets will participate in the 4^th july parade wed and patriot sportswear will be giving away some cool vintage 1960 rocket t-shirts. Join us at the fairgrounds at the event tent for more baseball fun.
