Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  Rockets red glare bombs bursting in air,  fireworks at the ballpark and lots of offense too. Portland rockets 20 napolean  riverbandits 2 wed. night at runkle-miller field.  Special thanks to Donald gillispie and hapner furniture for the firework display. Good crowd on hand after the rain cleared to the east.    Rockets did their part, broke open a 2-1 game in the 4th with 6 runs in the 5th .  rockets go on to win their 9 th game in a row,
Record 13-4.  
Dalton tinsley led the attack with 6 hits scoring 5 runs.  Nick hollowell had 4 hits including a long home run to left field.  
Junior santos, righthand from cleeborn texas, attending university of northwestern ohio,
Went 3 innings striking out 6 of 7 hitters in one stretch.  Also pitching for the home team, aaron paschal, ruben medina, Dylan brammer and matt chronister. 19 rockets played in this 2 hr 42 min contest.
This napolean legion team just completed a 12 game barnstorming run, playing in Minneapolis, Illinois, Omaha  and leave next week for a trip to Alaska.
We split a doubleheader with them earlier this year at Miami oh.  Great respect for coaches shane coleman and randy Bachman.  
Also coaches in the house, chuck etzler of ft recovery and his wife Kathy.  Coach morris mccreery of the old Muncie orioles. Coach petey elmore of the Ossian bandits.  
Heres a special touch:; billy geeslin on hand and always willing to throw a little batting practice in the cage.  
Congrats to kyle selvey jchs senior son of lea and denise for all state honorable mention.
And to Courtney miles  gymnastics competition in Toronto Canada.
Rockets now embark on a weekend challenge fri nite at Carrington field they take on the ft wayne orioles at 7 pm.   Sat rockets again in ft wayne 1pm DH vs ft. wayne marlins.
Rockets will return home sun 1pm vs. ft. wayne expos.
