Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland. The Portland rockets

Continue their winning ways, defeating the ft. wayne jackers 3-2 thur nite at Carrington field.

This very well could have been the shortest rocket report ever, we came, dan pitched good, we lost \1-0   but wait???

ROCKET RALLY

Trailing into the final inn. 1-0 with just one hit, mitch waters walked on a 3 2 pitch, and was sacrificied to second by tj lindstrand, after a walk to alex delk, collin affolder grounded into a potential game ending double play, but his hustle play beat the low throw to first, as the first baseman smothered the low throw and dropped to the ground, magic mitch chugged around third base and just kept on going, scoring to tie the game. Granted the call at first base was close, but that collin affolder was in this game because he gives his all.  Coach doug tinsley noted this as a big hustle play.

They change pitchers and bring in old righthander matt ousley,  we talked about him as a former rocket in our last report,

With the score tied, catcher cody krumlauf topps it off with a 2 run liner to right giving big dan bollenbacher a 3-1 lead. Atta boy catcher cody

Big dan bollenbacher was like a shark smelling blood in the water

He closes out the complete game win with 105 pitches giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits with 4 Ks

Rockets had 4 hits, 2 by Thomas mccowan, one by Dalton tinsley and by catcher cody crumlauf.

Wow, we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Rockets record improves to 19-10

Jackers fall to 21- 8.  interesting to note, Portland leads the ft wayne league with an 8-3 mark.  Second place jackers are 9-5

Game time 1 hr 50 min.  so I got home in time to watch movie bull durham,

I quote walt Whitman, “ I see great things in baseball, its our game, the

American game.  It will repair our losses and be a blessing to us.”

Rockets will be home this weekend with doubleheaders sat, sun at runkle-miller field.

Saturday tyler Reynolds and matt helm will start vs northeast kekionga

Sunday mitch waters and Johnny bullpen.  That means everybody,,,could be gary Williams from union city.
