Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.

A lovely full moon evening in Portland and the stage was set for round 2 wed nite

Portland took round one of the prize fight tues in Celina 8-3 dan bollenbacker and a great team win .

Round 2 in the blockbuster goes to Portland again, this time mitch waters sets the tone for

This one was a nailbiter, down to the very last pitch.  Celina rallied from a 10-3 deficit and trailed 10-9 with bases loaded 2 out, 3 2 pitch fouled off of course, always

Then Connor Milligan closer from Kokomo dealt once more ,  popped up high in the infield, tough chance,  tom mccowan corrals it,  rockets win rockets win, and we can breathe once more, 

I already had a text this morning from coach doug tinsley,  sleep deprivation,  I fell victim as well.

A banner crowd at the corner, it was junior league clinic night and those guys didn’t come just for a practice,  they all 38 , yes 38 of them had their uniforms ball bags and were there to show their stuff as future rockets,  a couple nearly dehorned me.

You talk about a circus, long toss, fungoes, bunting and hitting and sharing the batting cage with Celina.  The kids worked up a sweat, treated to instruction and free drinks from the rockets,,, shauna runkle thinks we could do something similar also for the softballers, and I have some ideas how to make this better.  This would have made ray miller smile ear to ear,

 Thanks heavens, no one got drilled or dehorned, and thanks for everyone and their patience.

Then we had round  2 in the prize fight, 0 0 in the 4^th waters singles, lindstrand walks, then chris miller singles, a sac fly by alex delk, then a beautiful squeeze but by kyle Selvey , we are up 2-0 they get three off mitch in the 5th then we come back with 7 in the 5^th. Key blow a bases clearing triple to the fence , Dalton tinsley, and I love the excitement that comes with triples,

You know what I like better than baseball, true grit baseball players, mitch waters pitched 6 inn no walks, 5 hits, and banged out 3 of his own,  dh I don’t think so

Chris miller from marion, team controller as catcher 2 hits, alex delk Muncie, 2 hits and an rbi , has to be in every lineup, kyle Selvey gutsy squeeze play big at bat rbi in the fateful 5^th

This team is picking up steam.

Tyler Reynolds solid 1 inning with Carson cruea of Lafayette and milligan closed for the club.

2 hr 22 min and it had many ebbs and tides.\

Again, one of the best crowds in a while saw Portland win back to back over grand lake,

The crew was there, takats, hearn, wells,

Vickie and Charlie tague won the 50/50 and gave it back,

Thanks also to franz and coldren, attorneys for their donation to the rocket baseball club.

Thanks to Samantha Thomas her voice resonates all through southwest Portland, and it is cool to be at the ballpark,

Rockets win 10-9, take a round 2 win over Celina, are now 3-1 on the season
