July 5 2016 portland rockets win firecracker classic

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland .  for when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he asks not if you won or lost but did you beat ft. wayne, the Portland rockets beat ft. wayne, south bend, Mishawaka and all comers

To win the ft wayne firecracker classic tournament. Rockets went 4-1 on the weekend, knocking out the ft. wayne jackers mon morning 6-3 for the trophy,

Saturday mitch waters made his 1^st start of the season, rockets win 11-6 over Mishawaka brewers, they had beaten us once in south bend, not this day, nono

Rockets played an unprecedented 3 games sun, not a big fan of that plan, rockets cruised 10-2 behind dan bollenbacher, over the ft. wayne jackers, then craig martin knocked out south bend cardinals, 9-0   craig martin, a one hitter,

Sunday nite the jackers now have to beat Portland 2 games in a row, they win 4-2 in a close one, a fine pitched game, but the rockets only garnered 6 hits, our guy Andrew bobeck was just as good .  a slew of rocket fans on hand to witness , larry and donna chittum, brad miller, Kristie delaney, and many of the parents too on hand  steve garbacz and Ashley too on hand. Ryan shell the cf from gas city was there too

But now it is championship Portland vs ft. wayne,

One text message and we have Derek thobe rhp from coldwater just returned from vacation ready to go,  we say a special thanks to our buddy from coldwater mike moorman, a great rocket in his day, scouted by the ny Yankees and now owner of mcsobers home of good time, mike talked this lad into being a rocket and we are grateful.

Rockets with 17 players in attendance did a happy dance after zach tanners massive 3 run bomb, home run onto the golf course

Derek thobe with the 3 run cushion takes care of his baseball business, 6 inn  5 hit, alex delk closes out the last inn, rocket insurance runs on the double by Kevin sharp, the only player to have a hit in all 5 tournament games, then a speedy triple by dj manning the old running back from st. francis fine football program, come see this kid, a 4.2 40 , faster than a speeding bullet,  congrats zach tanner tournament mvp 11 hits 5 doubles and 3 hr. 8 hits geeslin, 7 sharp, 6 tinsley and affolder

Rockets won this tournament in 2012 as coach doug tinsley pointed out, and it served as a springboard to a world series berth, karma perhaps?????

Rockets return home to the biggest nite of the season, Wednesday nite is crossroads credit union nite, lots of zany energy, shenanigans and prizes, free stuff mind u

And I want a shot at that money machine, quick hands I picked up from playing ping pong with bob elson and dave golden.

Crossroads nite wed, the ft. wayne panthers are in town, be there or be rectgangular,
