July 11, 2016  rockets win 14-3 over jackers

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland. The Portland rockets played wood bat baseball fri nite and took care of baseball business,

Winning 14-3 over the ft. wayne jackers.  This contest played on a hot summer nite at runkle-miller field, and the field looked awesome, thanks parks dept. Get off the bus gus, the rockets scored 3 times in the 1^st inn. And cruised to victory garnering 15 hits in the 7 inn, 2 homers ,

A triple and 4 doubles,,  more than enough for craig martin to knock down the fortsters in 7 inn,  craig went 6 inn  101 pitches walked 6  but gave up only 4 hits,

Alex delk finished the 7^th.   Rockets/jackers games are rivalry games, and Portland won 2 out of 3 in ft. wayne to take the 4^th of july tournament championship.

They are always games you circle on the schedule, but Portland dominated in this one,

It sure is grand to have a trimmed/mancured baseball diamond, well mowed, lined, symmetry and public address announcer Samantha Thomas and baseball music, concessions at the lunching pad, 5050 drawing winner paul minnich

Restrooms with sinks and jujst a great ballpark atmosphere,,we care in Portland, and we take care of baseball business

Top 4 batters had 9 hits and when they are on, we are on, tinsley, geeslin, tanner and waters.  in fact, for the second game in a row both Dalton tinsley and zach tanner hit home run.

Tanner with 9 leads the club, Dalton has 7

In this game tinsley and tj lindstrand had 3 hits,  and as chris schantz aptly noted, this club has some offensive prowess,,,,,

That we shall see, rockets had the weekend off, now play the jackers again tonite, 715 at Carrington field, you know in their backyard it will be game on.

Fri nite it was great to have coach mark Flueckiger in  the rocket dugout, flick a rocket himself on the championship clubs of the 80’s and 90’s coaches at Huntington university, and we have several of those guys on board
