Everyone's favourite reporter is back to bring all the latest news about everyone's favourite team named after a Charles Dickens literary character. I was too busy investigating the reefs of Aruba last week to attend opening day, but Artful Dodgers manager Heather Beattie was happy to report that all cylinders were firing for two big wins. The bats got some keys hits, base-running was crafty, the defense was solid and Rob's girl hormones were kept firmly in check. Not as firm as Bird at the Opeth concert on Sunday, but pretty damn firm.

Week two saw the Dodgers meeting a familiar and much loved foe in Oh Crud! Two, not surprisingly, tightly contested games resulted in a split. In the absence of the always reliable Rob, two backup pitchers did remarkably well given the cold, rainy conditions. Subs Mike R., Johnny, and Shawna all made key contributions and the small group of Dodger regulars showed little winter rust. Except for Mer....she was terrible and faked an injury as her excuse. Nobody likes a faker, Mer.
