| This was the last home game of the Season and the last game for 5 of our third year players most of whom had been playing for 13 years with Doug and Alex playing 2 years of AAA elsewhere it was nice to come home to finish .For Jason who was with Doug and Alex on the Peewee AAA team of 2007 and then went onto the Westerns and for Jamie and Justin it marks the end of playing with their school friends.I hope to see them playing with the Junior Men's next year when time permits.
Okay enough of that .
This was a good test for the Athletics as the Mission team came to win , apparently they had been able to figure out the bizarre playoff schedule .
Anyway the Athletics also came to play and showed some slightly different pitching ,we gave up 1 unearned run in the first and had to wait until the 3rd inning to open it up with 4 runs and that was all our pitching needed we gave up another unearned run in the fourth.At this time I think that the team was getting a major headache from one of the Mission supporters,so the best way to deal with that is to score runs which we did in the 5th inning with 5 aided by some very aggressive base running.
MVP'S Alex 0 earned runs 7 strikeouts Doug and Nick both with 2 timely hits.
