The Salem Senators were honored by the Oregon Department of the American Legion as the "A" Team of the Year." Head coach Aaron Cummins was "Coach of the Year" in the inaugural season. The Senators were 2nd in the State Championship tournament to Roseburg Pepsi. The members of the team were IF Alex Black (Sprague), 1B Brandon Chinn (Sprague), C/P Austin Chipman (South), P/OF Chad Cox (South), P Kyle Crossley (Sprague), P/IF Mike DeSouza (Sprague), IF Jake Fohn (South), OF/P Jordan Giza (Sprague), IF/P Austin Hamilton (North), IF/OF Carson Hannibal (Sprague), P/OF Jamie Hoffman (North), C Kyle Ludwig (North), C/IF Jake Marlatt (Jefferson), OF Jordan Rodriguez (North), OF Sam Velasco (North) and OF Jordan Vesper (Sprague). Assistant coaches were Justin Hoffman and Chris Torgerson.
The award will be presented at the January 12 meeting of Salem Post 136 by Team Manager and Post Commander Art Cummins. |
